🗞 Elon Musk Calls Bitcoin ‘Brilliant,’ Better Than Paper Money for Value Transfer
Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has gone public with his belief that cryptocurrency offers an improved alternative to conventional money.
In a podcast interview with investment firm ARK Invest on Feb. 19, Musk talked about his views on the future of his companies and responded specifically to questions about his thoughts on cryptocurrency.
To that end, Musk said he believes bitcoin’s structure “is quite brilliant,” adding:
“It [cryptocurrency] bypasses currency controls. … Paper money is going away. And crypto is a far better way to transfer values than a piece of paper, that’s for sure.”
🗞 No Internet, No Problem: How to Send Bitcoin by Amateur Radio
In an age where governments are trigger happy at censoring or shutting down networks, it is reassuring to know that Bitcoin can operate sans internet. Network censorship, after all, is not some dystopian storyline but a power exercised by many democratic governments across the world. Thankfully, there are solutions that enable people to send and receive bitcoin even in a worst case scenario. For an advanced technology, it turns out that cryptocurrency can get surprisingly low-tech.
🗞 The SEC Is Now Reviewing 2 Bitcoin ETF Proposals
For the first time since August, there are now multiple bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) proposals sitting before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The VanEck/SolidX proposal filed with Cboe BZX Exchange has now appeared in Wednesday’s edition of the Federal Register, officially kicking off the 45-day clock to an initial decision. It joins another bitcoin ETF proposal filed by Bitwise Asset Management with NYSE Arca, which was published in the register last week.
Gabor Gurbacs, director of digital asset strategy at VanEck, told CoinDesk via email that he believes a bitcoin ETF will serve the public interest if approved.
🗞 Binance Launches Decentralized Crypto Exchange Testnet
Per Binance, the exchange, powered by Binance Chain — a new blockchain and peer-to-peer (p2p) distributed system — is already available for customers. Users can create wallets and start exchanging tokens on the Binance DEX testnet.
CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao explained that the new exchange will help users regain control of their private keys:
“Binance DEX is a decentralized exchange with a decentralized network of nodes, where you hold your own private keys and manage your own wallet. With Binance DEX, we provide a different balance of security, freedom and ease-of-use, where you take more responsibility and are in more control of personal assets.”
🗞 Market Cap: A Flawed Ranking System for Valuing Crypto
Market cap is often used as a metric of importance in the crypto industry. Communities will react jubilantly as their preferred coin moves up the rankings. People will often invest in the top X coins based solely on their market cap as they think it is representative of a diversified portfolio. However, is market cap the right metric to focus on?

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion
Here is the chart of yesterday :
Here is the current chart :
Today, we followed the BTC by continuing the UP. However, we can see that the UP is not really impressive, specially compared to other altcoins. I think that the correction is now imminent. Let's hope we will just use the support line around 0.31$ to have a new bounce from it. It would be really nice if we don't break that line as it will keep us in a good Up trend.
