Have you ever heard of Sweatcoins?

Sweatcoin

Sweatcoin is an app that I download a few months ago. We all have heard off these apps where you can “Win Prizes”and “Earn Money”. I can tell you that Sweatcoin is 100 percent legitimate.

Basically Sweatcoin works in the background of your phone, counting your steps. More specifically, it counts the steps that you take outside. Unfortunately, it doesn’t count the steps you take indoors.

After a certain amount of steps, it rewards you with its digital currency(cryptocurrency) called Sweatcoins or SWC.

One distinction that should be noted about Sweatcoins is that there is not Agreed upon monetary value for each coin. Some may even say it’s not a true cryptocurrency- though it does use the Blockchain technology to protect its holders.

Though Sweatcoins aren’t necessarily worth money directly, they can be traded for goods and services. The Sweatcoin app provides a medium for exchange.

It really doesn’t take long to start accumulating SWC and once you see something you’d like, you can trade your coins instantly. For those who do a lot of outdoor running, there are ways to pay a small amount of your coins each month to enable you to be able to gain many more coins per day. It’s a decent trade off if you know that you will earn several coins a day. Think of it like using your legs to mine currency.

Users that have large amounts of coins can trade their currency in for huge prizes...from gift cards to apple watches and more...

MY FIRST TRADE IN

After collecting almost 200 SWC by doing absolutely nothing but downloading the app and making an account- I traded in 150 SWC for an Urthbox.

What is an Urthbox?

Urthbox is a snack subscription service. After signing up, you can receive a monthly shipment of Organic Non-GMO snacks. There are several options for sizes and types of snacks including: Gluten Free, Vegan and Classic.

The 150 SWC bought me the largest size of any box I wanted to pick. Because I eat Gluten-Free for medical reasons (FML) , I ordered the gluten-free box.

I’m not gonna lie, they definitely didn’t make it a priority shipment. It took more than a month before it arrived; I’m sure that the subscription arrives promptly every month.

LET’S TAKE A LOOK A WHAT I GOT

The first thing that I noticed was that the item on top, the “Cookie Chips” were not gluten free. This was odd considering I checked the gluten free option. There were a couple more items that were not gluten free- including a second bag of cookie chips and some kind of bagel chips. Everything else appeared to be gluten free.

Surprisingly, one of my favorite things were the “Jackfruit Puffs”. If you aren’t familiar with jackfruit, it is a Native South Indian fruit similar to a pinnaple or banana but with one distinctly different characteristic- it supposedly has a very intense (sometimes considered offputting) smell.

Here is what a Jackfruit looks like!

These tasted like cheese puffs but with a slightly fruity sweet flavor..they are amazing. I’ve never had a jackfruit but it makes me wanna try it.

It came with several other snacks that I’ve yet to try. It all looks pretty good honestly.

This bacon jerky was pretty good!!

image.jpg

It also came with some candy. I have always loved Torie and Howard candies- these were awesome, a lot like Starburst (fruitchews). The chocolate chips were really yummy as well.

One thing that surprised me was the coupons and gift vouchers it came with.

image.jpg

All of these coupons/ vouchers are substantial and I will most likely try to use them all. There is 200 dollars worth of Wine vouchers. I think there is some fine print about spending money to be able to use them but it is still a fantastic bonus. I didn’t expect any of that so it’s all positive.

Oddly enough, it came with some high protein snacks too.

image.jpg

This included two protein Capri-sun esque packs and a paleo bone broth K-cup 4 pack with 10 mg of protein each. And also a protein bar- which is in the next picture.

Lastly, the bottom of the Urthbox had some interesting random items.

image.jpg

Hazelnut spread, two packs of olives (strange), a tea bag (looks good), a multivitamin sample, and shredded beef jerky.

(Oh and there was also a chai latte drink that froze and exploded a bit- but I didn’t take a picture of that)

The pack contained about 30 items or so. I believe it was about 50 dollars if you buy the urthbox with USD. The value of each item individually is probably much more than 50 dollars so it seems like a really decent value. I love that I received a bunch of snacks I’d never had before and actually enjoyed. I may order another box using one of these coupons just to try it again. Hopefully it won’t take so long to arrive next time.

ANYWAYS,

Sweatcoin is a really decent app that comes through with its “prizes”. It took a little while to get enough SWC but honestly, I just checked it one day and saw that I had enough to buy something.

The prizes are different everyday and there are limited supplies. New businesses can also offer their products as prizes on the sweatcoins app. I’m not sure how that works but if you were interested, you could certainly contact Sweatcoins about it.

Overall, I was most satisfied with the Urthbox. I was a little disappoint in the items that weren’t gluten free considering I ordered the gluten free box- but whatever. I wasn’t disappointed enough to not want to order one again. I will probably contact them and at least make it known that I didn’t get what I expected.

Awesome! I have been meaning to load this app for months! Your post is not only a reminder but motivation. :-) It would have helped to have this last week with my move! Oh well... I'll finally do it now.

@jewels3 It has been super cool- I’m always a skeptic when it comes to “free” stuff..even if I’m “earning” it with steps.
This has been nothing but great though and there is actually speculation that sweatcoins will eventually be valuable on the crypto market. There are places you can actually buy them - I believe.
Thanks for checking out my post - I appreciate your time!!

That's interesting.

And you're welcome!

I shall try now.

It’s super cool- you just download the app and let your coins add up every day!

I actually just installed this app yesterday! I think getting rewards and tracking my progress will help keep me motivated.

My only complaint so far is that the rewards currently available seem a little sparse and low in value. I would like to see some rewards in the couple hundred point range instead of a couple smartphone apps for less than $100 SWC and "yearly goal" rewards that are $3000+. Also, if you redeem a yearly reward, each SWC dollar is worth about $0.013 USD, which seems on the low side for an entire year of busting your ass to make the required 10k steps/day.

Yeah it’s certainly not perfect but I look at it as passive “income”. I do not count my steps or check my balance- I click on the app once in a while and see what kind of things I can redeem my points for....
I was really happy with the URTHbox for the most part and I did nothing but download an app to get it.

Plus, there are people out there who run several miles a day and are racking up the points...it may take a while but it’s at not loss to me.
