The reasons given in the article were no different from the reasons to buy Litecoin in February of 2017 (which I did) ...

• Feasibility as a Payment System
• Litecoin’s Price is Undervalued
• It's the Bitcoin testing ground

The later being the most important for me personally. Now that Bitcoin has Lightning, some say there is no need for Litecoin any longer, it can now die. I'm here to tell you that the Chikun will not die any time soon!

Long Term

The $1,000 price for Litecoin has been thrown around all year on Reddit and Bitcointalk, but I wondered if there were any others predicting such a high price for LTC. In my search I came across "The Economy Forecast Agency" and here's what they have predicted for the future of Litecoin.

FOMO + Payments

The Litecoin Foundation is not sitting back relying on the idea of being the "Bitcoin testing ground" either, they are directly marketing Litecoin to new users who "missed out on Bitcoin" as "the cryptocurrency of payments" and "an advanced version of Bitcoin".

Litecoin and Steam

As Steam drops Bitcoin support in the last 48 hours, Litecoin is added to Bitrefill and you can now buy Steam vouchers with LTC.

Litecoin and Blockstream

In August of this year the Litecoin Foundation sent a proposal letter to Adam Back, CEO at Blockstream, to broadcast Litecoin's blockchain on the new Blockstream satellite.

Coinbase

Users of Coinbase have been asking for SegWit support, but Coinbase has been reluctant for some reason. Many have speculated it was due to Coinbase's obvious bias towards Litecoin. However that may soon come to an end, if they are to be believed this time around.

The rumors have circulated due to Coinbase ignoring simple request to alert new users to the fact that hey can purchase fractional amounts of Bitcoin, and by not doing so are attempting to drive the customers to the cheaper alternatives, giving Coinbase an opportunity to control the smaller markets. hashbrown-conspiracy

Litecoin creator Charlie Lee was recently on the Glenn Beck show.
