Russian President Putin obsessed with cryptocurrency - Kept advisors up all night
A news article on trustnodes.com states that Russian president Vladimir Putin has caught the blockchain-bug! The article mentions how the president could one night not even fall asleep thinking about blockchains and kept advisors up all night discussing the issue.
Putin apparently sees a great future for blockchain and has been thinking heavily on it ever since meeting Vitalik Buterin earlier this year. Despite protests from more conservative financial powers in Russia, Putin has pressed on with blockchain research and development. By doing so, Russia seems to be primed to take a front-running role in blockchain, as neighbouring Europe seems far slower with integration and implementation.
It is a very interesting read to be sure! Putin is a serious player in world politics, and his endorsement to blockchain technology is surely to add to the reputability of it. And if Putin starts a blockchain tech-race, maybe the USA will follow suit?
