But first…

What is Electroneum?
Electroneum is the brainchild of Richard Ells and his associates, a new cryptocurrency with high aspiring dreams. Elcetroneum ICO opened up in September 2017 and reached its hard cap in November itself which was much before expectations.

But what sets apart Electroneum is its privacy feature and more importantly its mobile-friendly nature.

It is one of the few cryptocurrencies that can be mined using an app on your phone.
Its ability to be mined from any ordinary android phone is remarkable. This is the reason that Electroneum has been able to attract over one million registered users.

The vision of ETN
The creators of Electroneum share the vision that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin first held to make crypto coins the common currency for trade. A market where the common man traded Bitcoin for everyday physical products.

But this dream stays elusive because of various problems like the transaction bottleneck issue.

Anyway, Electronium tries to achieve this goal by a simple market strategy.

You download their app and run the miner, in return you receive Electroneum for your mining services. But instead of keeping it idle on your wallet, you can actively use Electroneum to pay your telecom operators your phone bills. This will incentivize people to start using more and more Electroneum. To make this happen the creators have already established contracts with various telecom operating companies.

They believe that the availability of Electroneum will spring in entrepreneurial ideas and create a market where Electroneum is the common exchange.

Electroneum currently ranks under 100 on the list of all the cryptocurrencies based on their market capitalization (April 2018).

Leaving all these speculations aside, let’s get on with how you can start Electroneum mining.

How to do Electroneum Mining on Computer
You can Mine ETN on Windows, Linus or Mac. We have specified a full guide using Windows as an example.

Let’s start.

Step 1: Download an Electroneum mining application

If you are already mining other cryptocurrencies in your personal system, then it is relatively easy.

Just download any of the miners for Electroneum. You can find ETN Windows Miner here. You can also mine ETN on Linux or Mac. The miner software can be found using the same link given above.

If you don’t have a system for mining, then don’t worry. It would be better if you go for mining on your mobile (which is explained later). This is simply because Electroneum mining does not require that much computing power and the returns are not that high to make a strong profit (As of April 2018).

Step 2: Open an Electroneum Wallet

Create your ETN Wallet to get your address. The link for creating your own wallet is given below:

https://my.electroneum.com

Step 3: Run the miner. Simple.

Use my referral code 2F79A2 to get 10%bonus from your mined etns for life time Screenshot_20180624-133557.pngotherwise you cannot get the bonus.

But do remember to link your wallet and tweak the settings according to your preference. Although the applications are mostly automatic and you wouldn’t need to do much.

Although the applications are mostly automatic and you wouldn’t need to do much.

Anyways, let me take you through the configuration that you need to do.

of Threads: Check out the number of Cores of your computer and put that number in this field. You can put a number less, but avoid running threads more than the number of cores present.

You can check the number of cores by opening Performance Tab of your Task Manager. (As shown below)

Your ETN Wallet Address: Enter your ETN wallet address in this field.
Try to use only a single wallet for mining as you will be able to keep a good track of your mining status.

Pool URL: URL of the Pool. You can join the various mining pools, some of them are listed below:
https://etn.nanopool.org
https://etn.spacepools.org
https://etnpool.net
You may need to test a few pools before finding the best. This is because some Pools are Cloud-based (highly efficient) while some are not. Also, few pools charge a Fee (usually less than 1%).

Full List of ETN Pools: Click Here

Anyways, the format of POOL URL is of the form;

stratum+tcp://[URL]:[port]

URL is replaced with the pool URL and port is replaced with a specific port number

If you don’t want to spend time checking all of this, simply start with EasyHash Pool. I’ve seen many people talking about the great results achieved using this pool.

You can enter the following POOL URL as per your specs;

etn.easyhash.io:3630 – For Low/Mid Range CPU
etn.easyhash.io:3631 – For High-End CPU/GPU
etn.easyhash.io:3632 – For GPU Rigs
Once you enter your Pool URL, ETN Address and Thread, click on the Start Mining Button.

The Miner will start mining Electroneum and will start displaying the HashRate, Total Shares, and Bad Shares.

A HashRate of 150+ is considered to be ideal. This can be achieved on a Core i7 Processor.

How to Check your ETN Mining Stats
Every Mining Pool has a site where you can check your mining statistics. Since we shared EasyHash Pool above, you can check your stats here at EasyHash Website.

Just enter your Wallet Address (the one you used in the miner) and click on “Track Wallet” button.

It will display your Total Earning along with many other important stats.

So that’s all about Mining ETN using Computer or GPU Rigs!!

Let’s move forward to Electroeneum mining using SmartPhones.

Electroneum Mining Using Android Phones
The following steps are based on the assumption that you already own an Android. And if you are an iPhone user, well sorry there’s not much you can do about it as of now.

But the site does promise that an iPhone miner is on its way, very soon.

Step 1: Download the Electroneum app from the play store

Use your fingers to navigate and open the playstore on your Android phone. Type Electroneum on the search bar and voilà, you will have the app displayed on your screen. Next, touch on the download button to download it. Life has never been easier. 😛

Step 2: Open the Electroneum app

Once you open the app, it will look something like this. If it doesn’t then it’s a fake app that wants to get their hands on your wallet.

If you have already registered to the Electroneum website, then just log in. Or else, if you want to log in using Facebook, you can do that too. Or simply register via the website.

In this tutorial, I have chosen to register via the website.

Step 3: Registering the ETN Mining App

When you choose to register via the website, the app will redirect you to the website where you have to provide your email and set a password.

Then you have to simply confirm your registration by going to the link sent to your email.

Next, you have to register your mobile number.

Step 4: Setting up your pin

You will be required to set a pin. This pin will be used to access the Electroneum app. You will also be required to set a recovery email for your pin.

Doing this, your wallet will also be automatically generated.

Step 5: Authorizing your device

The app will then ask you to authorize the device you are using to be linked to the Electroneum account you just created.

To give the authorization, a separate email will be sent with a link. You have to select the link to authorize your device.

Step 6: Open the app again and log in

After you are done creating your account, log in to the app again and enter your pin.

Everything is simple after this, you just have to select the ‘start mining’ button to start mining. Duh.

The app has different functions, including your wallet with which you can transfer and receive Electroneum. It also displays the current exchange rate of the coin in the market.

Is ETN Mobile Mining Safe for Smartphones
Yes, as per the tests conducted, Electroneum Mining on Smartphones is totally safe.

As per reports on electroneum101, the ETN miner used 4.66MB of data in 30 days. Same is with the battery usage, it will not overuse your battery and thus you can easily keep the miner running for 24 hours.

Well, that’s about it.

But wait!!

How much Profit can you Make by mining Electroneum?
There is no exact number for this answer.

ETN released an article on its official site which clearly explains that the amount depends upon the number of miners.

The article says;

“The number of coins each miner will gain is directly proportional to the number of miners, this is even true of the additional pool of funds from the remainder of the token sale. Obviously, if there are more miners – the reward per miner is less. “

The article further states that the ETN team may slow down the emission of additional coins to perform tests so as to get maximum benefit for all.

Anyways, as beginner miner, you can still get an idea of profit by using ETN Mining Calculators. Click here to see how much profitable ETN Mining is.

Note: Samsung Galaxy S8 was able to mine 50-70 coins per day.

Here’s a video from CryptoHobby about ETN Mobile Mining

Anyways, guys, that’s all about it. I have tried to share almost every basic info you need before starting Electroneum Mining.

Before going, here’s the ETN Mining Reddit Resource that you should visit regularly.

Good luck mining coins and I hope the markets remain always in your favor.
