Simple Token Review - Will It Crush Steem Smart Media Tokens?

New ICO. Similar to Smart Media Tokens. Now any business can make a branded token with ease.

I researched the idea, team, and ICO structure.

What are your thoughts?
Can you tell me the main differences between SMT's and Simple Token?

Much love my Steem friends.

Nice explanation. But if the different little special community tokens can be exchanged, why not just use Steem? It's tradeable, too. It seems risky to get tokens from communities that may fold so easily. That's what's happened to some of the Steemit specialty tokens, like the Trail Coins from the SteemTrail initiative.

That's a great point. I would only use Steem blockchain personally.
Steem has a long proven track record. SBD can almost be used as a stable reserve for crypto on a whole.
If SMT's take off then Steem blockchain will be extremely stable and anti-fragile.

The reason I'm interested in Simple Token is they have a good team and better marketing. Your average crypto person (not involved with Steemit) hasn't heard of SMTs. The Steem team is really technical and they lead with amazing tech. Other companies out there lead with marketing... Sometimes marketing wins, so that makes me a little nervous.

You make a good point though. Stability is a huge issue for Simple coins.

I've got 12,000 TrailCoins from here on Steemit that are worth $0.00. Do you want some? ; )
That was my experience with the little community coins. They had a great goal, but execution not so much. That said, I can see how I can use community coins for what I do. Like rewarding people for taking part in a wild foraging class. And they use the coins to buy parts of the class. There's a lot of learn and experiment with.It will be interesting to hear more from you as the Simple Coins move forward - the SMTs, too!

Yea, that's a good point. I heard about the trail coins.
I think SMT's have a much better chance because being tied to Steem promises value. As Simple Token has a long way to go before it builds stability. It's a really big thing to try and pull off. Someday someone will do it. It will be fun to see how things pan out.

Why not just use Steem? Because Steem is riddled with spam, bots and the voting structure supports only the rich members?
Also, Simple Token is actualy doing it. They have two real clients now, and many more coming soon.
I'm done with Steemit. It can't die fast enough imo.

Great Post, thank you for sharing! greetings from italy!

Greetings. Have a great day out there in Italy.

Yoooo this is actually a great idea! The fact that we could exchange “happymoney” tokens for any token associated to the simple token platform is a game changer! And it sounds easy to make! I might as well make one even though I don’t have a use for it yet haha

Haha, yep. This space is rad. Changing every day. Just move with the flow.

I'm curious how this token will perform after the ICO. Hope happymoney token goes to the moon

Haha, after the ICO is where the rubber meets the road. We'll see. There bonuses weren't huge so hopefully it won't be a giant dump.
That's the fun part.

Main difference is that we got to get behind smt! lol

Haha, YES. I agree. I'm a full supporter of SMTs. I just wish we marketed harder.

Yeah, I bet they will once it gets closer. I just think they may get lapped by that time from other companies. This one looks promising though. Really we all have to get behind one thing similar to how VHS and Betamax was. We are in the wild west right now with all of this. I am excited for it all. I just know that the dust has to be settled before we figure all this stuff out.

Absolutely. I think that SMTs are launching with some partnerships in January. Hopefully they have some big partners and it really helps launch STEEM. Exiciting times right around the corner.

I think that there are no big differences between these tokens, since they are based on blockchain. Thanks for the informative video @happymoneyman

Yea, I think Steem is more proven and stable. We'll see.

steem has stable amd strong blockchain in cryptocurrency, thanks for sharing.

Yes, Steem is really stable. That's the best thing about it.

I've just looked at the technical paper and this is what I read
"The embedded wallet implies that the keys owning the branded tokens are managed by the company on behalf of the user"

So tokens will be centrally distributed...

Well everyday I see 10+ new ICO on facebook ads. So these kind of things don't grab my interest.I'll when someone use it and make sure it's safe.

Haha, for sure. There is so many ICO's I can't even keep track off them launching, let alone study all of them. Fun times.

Waiting to see what shakes out is probably a pretty good move.

👍🏻👍🏻
