RE: Please Stop - Making posts where 50% of your content is your 3% Genesis Mining Link. Thank you. [a rant]
I'm starting to flag these for spam. I see the same post for 10 different people. It's just copy/pate ref spam. If you see it flag it.
Cloud mining is a scam on top of that. No sense is letting others get sucked into it to loose money as well. If cloud mining were actually profitable why would they sell the hash rate instead of just mining for themselves? If your betting on price going up better to just buy and hold if you can't afford the equipment and electric to mine yourself.
I admit I do use Genesis and do put a banner at the bottom of my posts although that is not the premise of my blog. I have invested moderately and it is more for interest and some fun knowing I am mining rather than for huge returns although I am seeing daily profit/returns for several coins and will continue to upgrade on a regular basis. I do of course invest traditionally and I am also looking into bitConnect for earning interest on lending. Fingers in a few pies never hurt. :)
Sebastian I saw your bitconnect write up. I hope it works well for you. From the looks of it appears to be about 16% return on your capital during the first the 100-1000 dollar category with some very naive mental math (100, return after 10 months, the 11th and 12th month are 8%). Large upfront payments are not typically what I go for unless I get something tangible (GPUs lol). With that said, I wish you the best of luck! If you want to post some sort of profit report without being too revealing about actual numbers after a year or so that would be great! I don't know too much but wasn't there a function on Poloniex that lets you put up some coin for others for a return as well?
Thanks for the reply. Not sure about Poloniex however I am sure you can margin lend/borrow against your own coin supply. I will check it out. Happy to share some profit modelling once it transpires. I see BitConnect as a great way to diversify my savings portfolio other than stack, lock and hold, staking and/or speculating which is of course risky. I have $1000 with BitConnect initially to see how it goes and the fact that BitConnect only has a 28 million coin supply I feel this could be a good investment in the long term. Time will tell.
I feel like I've heard you can be on the other end of the margining, or something like that with Poloniex. I'm definitely unsure though.
I kind of wish there was a downvote button (maybe like a weighted one where 10 downvotes = the weight of -1 vote) or something. I've been reluctant to use the flag button as it seems so severe.
Now, with that said, there might be a VERY good reason why downvotes don't exist - I could definitely see it being a possibility, I may just be naive to the overall vision of how the devs envisioned the curation of site to function.
I am also skeptical of cloud mining for profit (over buying the coin itself). But, it does allow people to enjoy the mining process without building a rig. I want to see what the numbers look like in terms of profit after ALL the fine print costs are accounted for as well a changes in difficulty.
