Goldman Sachs to operate Bitcoin Trading
Goldman Sachs, an investment banking giant is currently at an early stage of exploring the cryptocurrency markets.
They are considering launching of a dedicated bitcoin trading platform.
The bank is not fully committed to plan though, so there is still a possibility for the project to be scrapped.
However, there is a growing interest from the bank’s customer-base for cryptocurrencies.
Also, there is currently low volatility in the traditional markets, Goldman sees the cryptocurrency markets are getring harder to ignore.
United States to Legalize Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Exchanges
Just like Japan, the U.S. Government may regulate trading activities around Bitcoin and Ethereum.
During an event, Keith Noreika of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia told reporters that they are open towards cryptocurrency exchanges applying for bank accounts.
He also added that he is considering the nationwide imposition of a licensing program for cryptocurrency exchanges.
This could replace New York's regional licensing BitLicense with a unified regulatory framework for cryptocurrency exchanges and investors.
The unified regulatory system may take longer time for the U.S. government to implement but it is already a positive indicator for the growth of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the U.S.
