South African Wishful Thinking On Crypto Investing Early On

A survey called “2018 Saving and Investment Monitor” in South Africa reveals that 38% of residents and citizens of Africa’s second-biggest economy, had wished that they have invested in cryptocurrencies early on. 

The survey also reveals that South Africans are really bullish on cryptocurrencies, so much that 71% of them say that you can make a lot of money on them. 

However, in the same survey, many of them view cryptocurrencies as some sort of pyramid schemes. 

The Old Mutual survey also revealed that the level of awareness of cryptocurrencies is only 40% with about 60% have no inking about them, which only means that there is still a lot of more room for growth. 

The said survey comes after Google Trending shows that South Africa had the highest level of interest in the world for searches about Bitcoin in the last 12 months.

Canada Has Reached 85% Level Of Bitcoin Awareness, Survey Says

In a survey called 'Bitcoin Omnibus Survey' commissioned by the Bank of Canada, reveals that 85% of Canadians are aware of Bitcoins. 

The same survey also shows that in the year 2017 the ownership of Bitcoin has doubled. 

Most of its owners are said to be hodling their cryptocurrency based on its speculative value and a form of investment. 

British Columbia province according to the survey had the most people with knowledge about the new asset class with about 92% claiming to know about cryptocurrencies. 

Quebec comes in second with the highest increase of the year with 77%.  

The survey was conducted to assess the impact of cryptocurrency in their financial system.

US Ranks Most Favorable Country For ICO

A research report by an analyst that is associated with Crypto Finance Conference, have compiled information from publicly available data, and have concluded that US is the most favorable country to do ICO in terms of funds raised and number of projects launched.  

Switzerland and Singapore also ranked high on the list. 

The US launched 30 ICO projects, Switzerland 15 and Singapore 11. 

In addition to these Russia, Estonia and UK are also favorable countries to launch cryptocurrency funding activities.

Unicef  To Use Bitcoin As Bitcoin

The United Natons Children’s Fund (Unicef) is exploring cryptocurrencies as a payment mechanism to power its operations and as means of cross-border settlement. 

This initiative will be done through Unicef Ventures.  

Christopher Fabian reveals that in 2016, UNICEF procured $1.6 billion worth of vaccines, paid a global staff of 12,000 and transferred $158 million cash to more than 10 million people in need. 

It aims to lessen the friction on these transactions to reduce cost sending them to their intended recipient. 

They also intend to keep Bitcoin as Bitcoin by incentivizing suppliers who will accept the cryptocurrency as payment.

They want to keep Bitcoin as Bitcoin without having to convert it to Fiat.

Malta’s Has Its First Two-Way Bitcoin ATM

MoonZebra has launched the first two-way Bitcoin ATM located in the flagship Quicklets offices on Tower Road in Sliema, Malta. 

The MoonZebra is a collaboration of two Bitcoin influencers, Leon Siegmund and Jonas Abrahamsson. 

The former is one of the founders of Bitcoin Club Malta which holds events and meetups for the awareness of cryptocurrencies.  

The Bitcoin ATM will enable the users to get their hands on crypto similarly to how they get cash. 

As the name implies it is a two way process. 

You can buy crypto by depositing fiat money for in exchange for crypto as well as vice-versa. 

The Bitcoin ATM work only with Bitcoin as of the moment but will support more crypto in the future.
