Recently, TRON announced it’s partnership with publicly traded Chinese company, Baofeng. While not necessarily a household name in western markets, Baofeng is a serious contender in China, with several different industries under its umbrella of operation.

Most specific to the partnership announcement is the above hardware that, as noted, is manufactured for the development of Cloud based blockchain networks. From Baofeng’s website they state (pardon the English translation):

As part of its strategic partnership, the Wave TRON Foundation will also provide partial rewards to users of BFC Coverage Cloud after its main network goes online, which in part will reward users who will be distributed as BFC credits to all BFC co-op clouds.

From the information available it would appear that Baofeng will be making available for purchase and distributing Cloud Storage units. These will in turn be utilizing their “BFC Coverage Cloud” as cooperative nodes that in some way will partner with or utilize the TRON architecture. This creates a symbiotic partnership between TRON and Baofeng hardware, allowing for the first deployment of the previously mentioned rewards ecosystem detailed within the TRON documentation.

Justin further stated in his announcement,

“Baofeng Group is one of the best Internet companies and a prominent public company in China. This cooperation reflects Baofeng’s clear understanding of the Internet’s future and its high recognition of TRON project and team. For TRON, 2018 will be a year of rapid growth. Launching the main chain will be the top priority. Baofeng’s BCN service will pave the way for TRON’s sustained development. We both look forward to opening a new era of blockchain-based online entertainment.”

Consequently, CEO of Baofeng, Tianlong Cui, further stated,

“ As a large-scale P2P network operator, we know how difficult this network is and how great the technical challenges are. We look forward to the TRON team overcoming the difficulties and launching the network.”
With the current marketshare and industry specific nature of Baofeng, it is indeed a positive partnership for TRON as it fit’s perfectly in line with TRON’s original purpose and structure. Baofeng currently specializes in audio and video encoding and decoding technologies, and further utilizes this tech throughout the internet, radio and entertainment industries.

As seen in the following marketing material available from Baofeng, home cinema equipment and architecture is one of many main focus’ of the Baofeng brand. Interestingly enough, Baofeng even specializes to the level of cinema style seating, crafting an all inclusive branding experience of company portfolio products.

TRON’s original goal, while ambitious, has been laid out within a long-term Roadmap to account for the needed market adoption. To redefine web protocol as we know it, partnerships are necessary with existing P2P networks as well as the development of further expanding platforms for use. A real world use case of TRX rewards for node management will further operate as a positive verification of the development of a TRX reward and spending ecosystem.

While this may not be a partnership that was necessarily expected or predicted, we must keep in mind that in previous tweets, still available online, Justin has mentioned upcoming partnerships with publicly traded NASDAQ companies. While the market price of TRON is less than it has been in previous weeks, it is to be expected with such a phenomenal boost seen in the past. As TRX trading continues in high volume and liquidity, we can further look for future announcements and partnerships from Justin Sun as TRON continues to shape its company image and brand.
