Trading in Crypto - Some of the trading bots out there

in #crypto7 years ago

Steemit is a probably currently one of the best websites where people are introduced to the Crypto and Blockchain world. Although Bitcoin has been around since 2009, it is not used in the mainstream and sites like Steemit is really assisting more and more people to be introduced to the crypto scene.

I am not a specialist in trading whatsoever, but I really enjoy playing with new technologies and ideas. I have been researching and reading a lot about trading in the crypto currency market and a few friends and I recently started Crypto Investment Fund.

We started with a very small amount of South African Rands, and I guess we are not doing too bad as we are still in making profits on a daily basis.

We did however put a large chunk of Bitcoin into the Humaniq ICO, so anything can happen. Let's hope the price goes up when it hit the exchanges after the ICO :) It is still not too late to get onto the ICO as you still get 25% bonus when you buy HMQ tokens for the next few days.

I have been doing everything manually, keeping spreadsheets of each of the transactions we do. This is to ensure that we know exactly what we are doing, when we get to the point where we automate some of our trading. Please note that I am still a newbie in the trading game, and I am definitely not a person who can provide advice on trading as yet. I can however share my research on what technology is out there and available for trading automation.

A few trading bots

First of all most of the traders in the market uses bots to automate their trading based on sound principles, which they've learned through time.

Haasbot

I was recently introduced to Haasbot, and when I started my research I found this site to top most of the recommended lists on the internet. Haasbot seems to be very popular, and is used extensively. This bot, can even recognise some of the candlesticks, which is then used as an input into your trading, as you can make decisions based on the candlesticks. There is a BTC cost to using this bot depending on the timeframe you subscribe for the service.

You can check out a nice introduction video at their website here

CryptoTrader

This is a cloud solution, which is actually wonderful as you do not have to install any software on your device. I hope everybody understand how important it is to work in a very safe and secure environment when playing in the field of CryptoCurrencies. Cryptotrader also allows you the opportunity to engage with various trading strategies in the form of a marketplace, which then gives you the opportunity to purchase a strategy of your liking.

The platform also integrates to most of the popular exchanges, Bitfinex, Poloniex and Coinbase are on the list, only to mention a few

You can check it out at the Cryptotrader website

Zenbot

This open-source software platform has been available for a while, but has apparently not been updated for quite some time. The great thing about Zenbot is that it supports the trading of multiple currencies at once and also support high frequency trading. The code has not been updated for a while, but you can download the code from Github.
You can find the code for Zenbot here

BTCRobot

As far as I have read it seems that BTC robot was one the first trading bot out there. This can be a good thing - If the developers learned from their mistakes and iteratively made improvements based on lessons learned. According to the web people are still using this bot extensively and making some profits.
Check it out at the BTCROBOT Website

I would love to hear some comments, recommendations and your experiences using bots from the community as a whole.

Trading in cryptocurrencies is a risky investment to say the least. You can lose a lot of money if you do not know what you are doing. First understand by doing it manually before automating anything. It is basically gambling. Do not invest more money than you can afford to lose.!

Hey @jacor, great to see you posting again mate. Interesting you mention the humaniq ICO. I really like that project and thought of investing a few times, because I believe in the power of the blockchain to disrupt the remittance sector. There is another project called VIVA that's more advanced than humaniq that are having their ICo soon too. You can read the White paper here. Also you can join their chat at chat.vivaco.in.

Thank you very much @nextgen622 . I wish I could post more, but I recently moved into our company on a full time basis. I am therefor struggling for time. I will however be posting more as we won a few decent sized development projects and it is not the turn of the delivery team to do some work :)

I have been following Humaniq for some time, and will definitely look into the VIVA project. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Another project which you should look into as well is the Gnosis project: Their ICO starts 24th April ...:

Gnosis Website
Auction Information
Token Information

That's exciting with regards to your company. All the best with your new ventures.
O yes, have heard a lot of good stuff around Gnosis. Will definitely look into it too. Thanks for letting me know.

btw, your old friend @williambanks heads up the VIVA project along with several other very talented individuals. Hope you will get the chance to check it out.

That is very exciting :) I will catch up with Mr. Banks ASAP. Already on the site sending out some invites and tweets

Cool. That's great to hear. If you get a chance to drop by chat.vivaco.in some time, you will see that they are just about to launch an Alpha version of a remittance/money transfer tool. :)

I may have to spend some more time checking all these trading bots options. Thank for sharing.

Great reading ;) I use this bot https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.0 and have gotten great results so far ;) If you interested, just PM Sampey and say that psy112 referred you ;)

Thank you for a great comment @psygambler . I will definitely have a look at your suggestion. Chat soon

one question since you are using haasbot, is it profitable counting in the price of usage?

I did not have the guts to actually start using it yet :) Give me a few weeks to gain some confidence and then I will feedback. I will catch up with you in Steemit Chat when you are around.

awesome, looking forward to hear the results ;) keep me updated

Will do thanks @psygambler ... Jut followed you so we can catch up later.

How was your earning using this bot so far?

Hi @juvyjabian , As I just mentioned to @psygambler, I did not have the guts to take the leap into bot trading. Still researching. I will let you guys know as soon as I have some more confidence and usage information.

Okay. Im interested in trading but I found it very difficult. I did it with fiat currency before and lose all my investment. If theres a bot that will determine a good time to buy/sell that would be good.

I don't think anybody have all the answers, but I do like the information provided on CryptoTrader.org . You can actually tap into the experience of seasoned traders, by buyig some of the strategies. I am considering this, but my gut feel is that if it was so easy, everybody n the world will be doing it :)

awesome!

I hope this info will help somebody :)

When you invested in humaniq, were you investing to dump after the pump, or for a long-term stake?

@fadat, I do believe that Humaniq have long term value for the unbanked population in the world. The big questions is if they have the ability of getting their solution into the hands of the masses.

Great post @jacor, I recently heard about the trading robots for traditional markets and for crypto markets, I also read about build your own bot using python and other languages, I dont know if is a good idea to buy this kind of bots or build them by your own.

Thanks so much for this blog. Very informative!

I have a custom altcoin GUI trading bot needs testing. I created it because I wanted more options for buying and selling than what Bittrex currently offers. I wanted to be able to set both stop loss and take profit conditional orders at the same time. As of now you can only set one or the other. My bot will buy at desired price and set a stop loss and a take profit trigger at specified targets. Plus it has a trailing stop to get more profits when coins keep pumping. If anybody is interested in giving feedback and getting a copy message me @ chadsellsall gmail.

Great info on trading bots. If you are using tradebots at all then you need to check out Binance crypto exchange. They not only have low fees but they have trading contests for free coins and cars! I did a video on it here.
