ETN - Journey So Far
So Electroneum (ETN) has continued to have its ups and downs, and surprised people on both sides of the fence. I was personally hoping for a tank in price so I could get my funds from flipping at nicehash since November 1st into more coins. But that did not happen. 
In Fact ETN held strong with a bottom side of about 300 Satoshi, making it really hard for me to justify keeping my money into ETN. So I cashed out when Bitcoin was at about 18500. I am still long on my ETN position however. I currently have a miner hashing away at ETN. I worked on Bios mods, and fine tuning the overclocking on my rig, and am happy with the current hashing power.
I was also able to max out my current rig, and purchase a second maxed out rig with my profits. So thats great. At this rate I should exceed my previous ETN stack in 2 months, and I will have the mining rigs working full time to making more money.
But why am I still long on ETN?
The hype, there was no way ETN should have stayed at 300 Satoshi. It should have dropped much lower, and it held out. In fact John McAfee made a tweet endorsing ETN. This tweet is super flawed on so many levels, and makes me concerned about McAfee's objectivity, but he sure knows how to drive the charts.

So what was so special about this tweet?
Well McAfee tweeted that he is going to start making tweets about ICO's daily. ETN was his first tweet in these series. He also stated he was tweeting due to the overwhelming DM's he recieved, and for the reasons he included in this list:

Now I have some serious problems with some of the stuff included in this list, but that is not what this post is about. So I leave that for another day. But the end result is he drove the price of ETN up within an hour of his posting that...and it held in its almost double position over 600 Satoshi.
If this little bit of good news can drive the price of ETN up imagine a new exchange? I still have little faith in the ETN team, but this thing has legs of its own.

Electroneum is so much hyped and I hope they can deliver because they have collected huge amount in Pre-sale. I was not able to participate in Pre-sale but I have got some 10k ETN around $0.07
I honestly see the team lieing and failing reguarly. So I have no faith in them still. It's momentum is in spite of them.
That is total nonsense and trolling...

I'm with you @cryptokraze I'm hoping with their marketing experience they will be able to spread the word and if they can get listed on other exchanges accessibility will no longer be an issue.
They are on track with their timeline, yes! and working hard :) They are all humbled by the huge ICO success!
Their timeline was a seemless launch on November 1st...so they have fully missed their timeline. There are still people who cannot access their coins.
Personally when I first saw it my initial reaction was that: I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole. It just looked like a suicide investment for me.
I've made a bunch of predictions on this site. Many except 1 came true.
Hshare, Bytom, Komodo,SONM quadrupled.
BCH went over $1000 (I made the claim on early August)
I was screaming about WTC while it was 10 times cheaper and I predict minimum $100 before next christmas.
I was big on Substratum and Sia
I was screaming about MaidSafe and NEM
So I do know a thing or two about investing even though I'm pretty much a noob. If it makes short term gains, go for it. But I see no long term value in ETN. It's a real piece of garbage IMHO.

Dude, this is one of the very few UK ICOs, they are looking to get acquired by a London bank, how exactly do you "see" "no long term value in ETN"??
I looked into them and the CEO, it all seems on track they are really working hard to gain adoption! :) it is going to be fine :)

I am waiting for ETN to come in bittrex and then I will but the big dip that happens always whenever a coin is listed on bittrex. Waiting for some good profits.

what's the point with Electroneum? isn't it just a Monero clone?
what can it do that other coins can't?
The cryptocurrency space is already polluted enough, clones should be shunned.
Everything is a clone nowadays. The difference is there is a mobile app built around it and a ton of hype.
Wow, very interesting take on ETN. Your analysis of the McAfee hype is spot on. I'm not sure why he's doing it and I think it can hurt his credibility long term. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Really I see the line about first intelligent blockchain, and im like ugh...this is a copypaste job from monero. So how is it the first anything? And if were talking about blockchains we have ether which actually has smart contracts...

@danile666 If you have no faith left in the team then why keep putting money into something you don't believe in lol??? Why not just sell your shares at the highest price and be done with it??
Because the blockchain is already out there and the team does not have any control over it. There is a lot of hype on the coin, and a lot of money to be made on the hype of grandmas around the world.
I'm not holding any ETN, but I'm curious to see how ETN will perform in 2018!
I was just wondering if you would elaborate on why you have little faith in the ETN team. I am long in ETN and have been since it was super cheap. I am planning to hold it and am just wondering now if maybe that would be a bad decision? Is their build team incompetent? I really feel like the idea and the platform are both great.

Sorry I didnt respond, holidays and all. Basically they have 2 failed launches. Mobile miner still doesnt work, and they continue to lie. Hackerone found the site was completely vulnerable. Electroneum claims it wasnt. Electroneum still hasnt paid any hackers bounties through hackerone either.
@danile666 where did you find this information at? That would make sense why the price/share seems to be moving rather flat over the past month now.
Well the 2 failed launches and mobile miner not working is all over their twitter and facebook pages. Peaople still cant access coins from the 2nd december launch. As far as hackerone issues, I have first hand knowledge of that.
@thelastsage I would continue to HODL long on ETN, once upon a time I learned this very same lesson. I held a great position in litecoin and started to have second thoughts after holding for several months without rewards comparable to other cryptocurrencies. Long story short, I sold my position for a very nice gain. I was happy with myself and ROI... Three days later litecoin jumped over 200% and hasn't since returned to the price at which I had sold. Be patient my friend,

Yea I am totally hodling my ETN. I was really just curious if someone knew something that I had missed.
I feel you on the litecoin situation. I too have a few regrets on coins that I have sold off way to early. I positioned myself well in Iota at .20 and after a pretty good run to a little over a dollar, I sold off 90%... and of course Iota has seen 5 dollars now. I will be holding from now on.

My biggest thing is chose a strategy and stick with it. If that strategy is to hold stick with it. If it is to short, then stick with it. I am still long because the devs dont control the blockchain, we do...but the dev team is a bunch of idiots.
