So recently, I was had a conversation with a friend who didn't know anything about cryptocurrency. He has heard of bitcoin but unfortunately, this person only knew the negative news and the bullshi+ that the mainstream media has fed him. Headlines; Crypto = drugs and/or terrorists.

Our conversation went down like this:

Friend = How can you be involved with something that is used to buy drugs? Isn't crypto used to purchase illegal drugs?

Me = You mean, the same way people use dollars to buy drugs? The last time I checked, I believe people have been using US dollars much longer than they have been using crypto to buy drugs.

Crickets and awkward silence as he shockingly stares at me

Friend = Isn't crypto also used to pay for prostitution?

Me = You mean the same way that the US dollar is used to pay for prostitution? Oh and by the way, did you know you can use Visa, Mastercard, and a debit card to also pay for illegal drugs and prostitutes? All you need is a device that attaches to your phone. The buyer swipes their card in the card reader and cha-ching! A transfer of money has been made between the buyer and the seller.

At the end of the conversation, he has become a believer and has increased the total market cap by $100.00

The bottom line is that cryptocurrency is misunderstood. Crypto currency is not illegal, it is the legal and illegal acts while using crypto, that paints the picture. Simply, media click bait. This recent experience just shows me how news and facts are being reported by the mainstream media... Oops! Let me rephrase that, what I meant to say was, how there is so little, to no "REAL" news that are being reported by mainstream media and how biased and skewed their views are about cryptocurrency.
