Crypto in Vegas

in #crypto6 years ago (edited)

My trip to Las Vegas opened my eyes to a different way of looking at the crypto space and another huge area of growth and possibilities in the gambling and gaming sector. Any main stream adoption which will eventually happen by anyone of the large resorts or casinos would send bitcoin and altcoins to the moon.

If someone was looking for simple dollars to cents value in crypto currency and a usage example they would have no further to look than casinos and gambling.

If we think about it casinos were some of the first large companies to enact the usage of a private internal digital payment system that was based on an established value for a service.

At casinos you load cash on to a casino card. You use the card to pay for the games you want to play and once you lose all or most of your money on the card you can throw the card away. If your lucky enough to win or have money left on the card there is a minimum balance you need to have to cash out or you have to pay a fee.

My point is that the money cards are a way for casinos to take money out of your pocket and control it. Why would I want a billion dollar casino to control my little pittance of money?Gone are the days where you can use cash. I have seen people take cash load it on a card then take the card and play games, the concept is ubsurd to me. The luxury of taking as much cash out of my wallet that I want to spend was refreshing. You can control your spending when you feel your pocket shrinking you can slow down or stop completely. Numbers on a card can cause people to spend more money because it doesn't feel "real" in my opinion.

I have already seen gambling coins on the market. Very soon we will see all casinos either have there own coins or invest in some. I don't know how people would take to the idea of a fluctuating coin price though. I have no interest in gambling coins as I don't see the real value. But its definitely a win for casinos as the coin value could bring added benefits.

It would be interesting to travel to Las Vegas and sit on an Slotmachine that works with Steemdollar´s. I hope that the use of Cryptocurrencies in the Gambling Industrie will really push Altcoins.

I would say that its a foregone conclusion that some form of digital currency will be integrated into the casinos, the unknown variable is what coin will become popular in the gambling world. It will be interesting to see how this develops. If the small investors get to participate it would be a wonderful thing. I would like to see some airdrops on some gambling coins.
