SmartNodes | Smartcash Master Nodes
The SmartCash network is decentralized, which means that many users around the world have the SmartCash blockchain installed on their computers and serve as a point of connection between users. Each device running the blockchain is a node. And the more nodes a network has the more secure and potentially decentralized it is.
What are SmartNodes?
As the title itself says, they are the master nodes of the SmartCash network. A master node is a node that maintains a complete copy of the blockchain in real time and is always active in operation.
These have some considerable differences to the normal nodes in terms of their functionality, since they carry out other functions apart from maintaining the complete blockchain and retransmitting blocks and transactions.
SmartNodes are incentivized since the user commits to keep the node running 24/7, and for that reason they are rewarded.
What functions do the Master Nodes have?
- Perform instant transactions.
- Increase privacy in transactions.
- Enable budget and treasury systems.

What is needed to host a SmartNode?
These require 10,000 SMARTs as collateral, a dedicated VPS with IPv4, at least 1GB of RAM and 20GB of disk. You must also have the ability to operate 24 hours a day without more than an hour of disconnection.
With the current SmartCash price of approximately $0.087 this would mean an investment of $870 for the collateral. Which is a fairly affordable cost compared to other cryptocurrencies with master nodes. Keep in mind that this is an active project that already has functional products and a large community.
I am currently receiving SmartRewards and I decided to set up a SmartNode, so I am accumulating SMARTs little by little to do so.
I advise everyone to do their own research before investing in any project. Personally, I like this project because I see that there is a great community and development team behind it, and I see potential in many of its proposals.

it is noteworthy that smartcash has one of the largest node network with ~ 17500 nodes.

Your article says it requires a vertual private server. That ststement doesnt make sense. You could have a dedicated physical server. Are you trying to say that the requirements include a static/dedicated ip address?
