[ANN] - Smartcoins Wallet v1.0.6 Released!
This update hopefully fixes the connection issues. We were relying on just the OpenLedger node for sync'ing balances and transactions. NOW, we have our own badass nodes (two of them so far) setup in Germany and France. If your phone loses connectivity, then it will try to hop to our new nodes automatically.
We also created our own Faucet so that new account registrations run much faster now.

I hope you guys like this update. Each server/node that we add to the network costs us about $150-$300 per month, so pleeeeeeease spread the word about the Smartcoins Wallet and BlockPay. If funds allow, I would like to add a third node in Panama which will help all of our friends in the Western world connect faster too.

$150 - $300 per month is quite a wide range, would you elaborate on the config for those servers? I presume you're using dedicated (non-shared) hosting, so those prices are NOT out of line. Just curious on what you decided to go with.
I have some significant reservations about installing a wallet on a mobile phone. However there are 2 strategies that might make sense:
create a new account for use only on the phone. Only hold as much as you would be willing to loose in that account.
Root the phone and tighten security, for example only use a VPN to connect to crypto servers.
I've read so much about how cell phones are a security nightmare. Just look at how many apps request access to every resource - contacts, camera, mic, tada, tada, even when said app has no NEED for all of the resources requested.
Anyway, love the announcement, hope it gains the viral traction of popularity to take it to the moon!
The price range that we have to pay depends on the country, the webhosting provider and the servers that they have to offer for the price.
They are dedicated servers of course, not a vps or something, these are the real deal.

It's in sync fast, great! Only 4MB download, nice. Job well done. Hope BlockPay will spread fast and gets acceptence in Stores here in NL.
Love the wallet. Clear UI, fast Response, now only thing Missing is places where I can use it.

When can we expect a iPhone os Version?
I gave up on iOS and Apple. Over 30 Appeals to their denial of our apps is what did it for me. We spent a ton of time and money developing the BitShares Wallet for iOS and Android. I put the code on my github page (/kenCode-de) though if you want to fork and tweak and try Apple for yourself, I would love to see more crypto wallets on the apple app store, but I think all of their app denials have a bit of an agenda behind them too.. apple pay.
Too bad we never met. I was in Munich last week for the last time for a long time. But I will integrate the App soon to our Sportcenters in Wolfratshausen and Geretsried, the first Tennis place in the world to accept Bitcoin in 2010!!! :)
Too bad for them. Well... Though Luck. Apple we be history in 10-20 years anyways... ;)
