CROWDSOURCED MARKETING: Marketing Initiative (Part 5). Building your Brand..!!

CROWDSOURCED MARKETING: Marketing Initiative (Part 5).

Over the last few days I have published Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 talking about a proposed Crowdsourced Marketing Initiative I am proposing as a result of the suggestion by @zurvanic & @andrarchy that the marketing of STEEM / STEEMIT should be Crowdsourced.

As discussed in previous Blogs and Videos I totally support this approach to the Marketing of STEEMIT and the STEEM ECOSYSTEM.

Part 5. Building your Brand..!!

As STEEMIT develops and grows, Brand Awareness will be the key to its success and it is building this Brand I wanted to talk about today.

There are many things to consider when building a Brand and below I have selected just a few of those that I believe are important.

1. Consistency

When branding a product it is important to remain consistent with your brand.

When I say consistent, what I mean is that it doesn't matter whether the brand is right or wrong at the beginning, what I mean is that what you start off with must run through all marketing consistently.

Having this consistency makes it easier for people to become familiar with the brand.

There is nothing worse than your target audience seeing different fonts, logos, colours, script etc, every time they see your product.

Visual is the key here and having this in place at the beginning just makes it easier to brand.

2. Create Templates

Creating generic templates and holding them in a central location just makes it easy to select and use.

Having a centralised location for all marketing material will ensure consistency throughout the branding process discussed above.

Templates would include things like: Font Details, Palette Colours, Script Types, Logos etc.

3. Promote Regularly

In order to establish Brand Awareness it is important to maintain a regular presence in front of your audience.

People forget, and so it is important to promote your Brand regularly, even if it was just simply the logo..!!

There is no hard and fast rule about the frequency of the promotion but I am not aware of any product that has failed in promoting their product as a result of over promotion.

4. Have a Motto

It is important to have a clear logo and product name and is equally important to have a branded motto.

By having a branded motto simply extends the logo and name into a short and easy to remember snapshot profile of your product.

Again, once this is established this should be available in the templates so that the motto is generically used across the branding process.

5. Engage, Engage, Engage

Now that the brand is out there it is vital to engage with your audience and let them know that you are there.

By engaging with them it will project a sense of caring and this is vital for establishing a connection with your audience as the brand builds.

Above is a brief summary of the importance of building a Brand and establishing Brand Awareness, and if I had to summarise it even further I would simply say, "....keep it simple, stay consistent, promote regularly, have a motto and engage, engage, engage..!!"
