CROWDSOURCED MARKETING: Marketing Initiative (Part 3).

I have decided to roll out (Part 3) a few hours earlier to get it out and shared.

It was always going to be a tough part of the proposal to suggest and hopefully it doesn't shock too many.

Here goes...

Part 3 was always going to be a tough one to suggest as it involves the self-appointment of geographically located STEEMIT Users to act as Influencers, effectively to become “boots on the ground”..!!

Over the last couple of days I have published Parts 1 and 2 talking about a proposed Crowdsourced Marketing Initiative I am proposing as a result of the suggestion by @zurvanic & @andrarchy that the marketing of STEEM / STEEMIT should be Crowdsourced.

I once again totally support this approach to the Marketing of STEEMIT and the STEEM ECOSYSTEM as explained in previous Blogs and Videos.

PART 3 “Boots on the ground”..!!

For the purpose of this proposal I will use the Term “Influencer” as a reference only and is subject to change if the proposal was to be accepted.

There will be no hard and fast rules as to who is appointed as an Influencer, the only criteria is that they would effectively become the “go-to person” covering a patch.

When I say patch it could be a Town, a City, a Country or even a Continent and will purely depend on who volunteers.

There would also be no hard and fast rules as to the extent of the patch as the Influencer would decide themselves what suits them best.

As the “go-to person” they would have unlimited responsibilities that will include, but not limit to: marketing, promotions, events, presentations, talks, meet-ups, etc.

As a STEEMIT Influencer their role would effectively be to promote STEEMIT with the full support of the Marketing Team back in the U.S. for all aspects of Marketing, including Branding.

It is the “boots on the ground” / “go-to person” that would effectively drive their own Marketing in their patch at a pace that suits them.

Reward will be no different than the Blogging/Reward structure that is currently in place and their efforts will be evaluated on the bases of what value the Community feels the Influencer brings to STEEMIT.

As an Influencer they will be responsible for arranging orders and making payments and purchases for whatever Marketing and Promotional activities they deem necessary.

Reimbursement of payments would be made via the Blogging / Reward structure.

In essence the Influencer becomes their very own "micro business" within the Community.

As discussed in Part 2, I would strongly suggest that payments are made in STEEM by encouraging and nurturing partnerships with Service Providers and Suppliers by registering them as a User of STEEMIT.

CROWDSOURCED MARKETING: Marketing Initiative (Part 2). Bloggers can be more than just individuals, they could be an Enterprise..!!

I hope Part 3 did not come as too much of a shock for many, but I strongly believe that for STEEMIT / STEEM to be an explosive success it will need people out and about marketing it at: events, fares, exhibitions, shows, etc.

STEEMFEST

I am sure there will be some out there who will say that what I am proposing is effectively a repeat of STEEMFEST, and in some way it is.

However, I strongly believe that STEEMFEST should maintain its status as a meet up for EXISTING STEEMIT Users to be held on an annual basis, whereas what I am proposing are in essence pockets of manageable Marketing and Promotional Teams covering a bespoke patch.

Think of it as a pyramid and the Area Promotional Teams will feed up to STEEMFEST should they choose to attend at the annual meeting.

I hope the above comes across OK and is not too shocking for those who may not see the benefit of the proposal yet.

Over the next few days I will continue explaining my proposal and hopefully by the time I finish you will have a complete picture as to why I believe this proposed Marketing Initiative would be an exceptional initiative for STEEMIT.

Once again thanks for reading.

Sort:

I haven't read anything completely shocking at this point but I need to read part 1 and 2 to get the whole picture of what you're talking about. Thanks for all you do and hope you're having a great weekend :)

I like this idea. I am a big can of influencers on the ground getting official support.

A few suggestions:

  • I think it would be good to refine what you mean by "unlimited responsibilities" for the plan.
  • For reimbursement expenses you will need to incorporate some form of approval from steemhq into the plan.

Thank you for your comments. You make two very valid points. I used the words "unlimited responsibilities" to try and convey the message that an Influencer would be responsible for all aspects of the Marketing and Promotion of STEEMIT and was just trying to get across that their remit would depend on how much they wanted to do. I totally agree that should this proposal be accepted and rolled out as a model for Promoting and Marketing STEEMIT it would have to be fully approved and supported from STEEMIT Inc back in the U.S. Thanks once again for your comment. Stephen

It's exactly why @pnc and I funded @steemquebec ! We want to be a local chapter for Steem community and promote it to french-speakers !
