Crowdsourcing Clarity, Ep. 13: What is the best way to backup my YouTube channel? (10 SBD for most helpful answer!)

CC13photo.JPG

Hey guys. It's been a little bit since the last CC post, but I am back again, looking for some guidance.

Here's the deal:

YouTube is a fragile little universe, run ultimately by folks I don't trust. I'm looking to backup my entire library of Voluntary Japan videos and need to know the best software (preferably free) for converting YouTube videos to saved files on my computer. As always, the poster of the most informative and helpful comment will receive 10 SBD.

Also, who here is using D Tube, and how is the experience so far?

Thanks in advance.

The best is you Keep it in yourself.
You may try D tube. It's digital video and great video.
They pay nice, as heard.

There is really only one.

youtube-dl

On a linux computer, it is pretty much just a click to install.
You just give it the url and the size/format you want it to download, and it goes to town.

There are many wrappers for it, that offer a GUI interface, but are youtube-dl underneath.
You can run it on windows, but you need the python resources loaded.

Have no idea about it. Wish you a very happy good morning.

I have get D-tube idea just after coming on steemit.. So sorry for that... Anyway I hope the experienced friend Will share their views to you... Have a great time ahead!

You can download all your videos in just a couple of steps!

  1. If you're logged in with your Google account, go to www.google.com/takeout
  2. Select everything you want to back up (in this case only Youtube)
  3. Select the file type of the archive, the maximum size, and the delivery method. I recommend creating a .zip file with the biggest max. size and having it delivered to your email address.
  4. You'll get an email when the archive is ready to download.

That's it!

If that doesn't work for you, I also recommend checking out DVDVideoSoft. They have a free tool to download youtube videos. If you put all your videos in a playlist on Youtube, you can bulk download the whole playlist. Here is the download link for the free software.

Hope that helps! DTube is working fine for me by the way. I've uploaded a couple of videos on it. Sometimes the video doesn't load properly, but overall it works fine.

Once again you are the winner, good sir! 10 SBD on the way!

Haha again! Maybe I'll keep my mouth shut next time so others have a chance of winning :) Anyway, thanks again, Graham!
