At [BLOCK] 2017 one of the open space sessions which was proposed by Phil Carey focused on “[BLOCK]Generational Cooperative Networks”. Here Phil explains what was discussed and the ‘COMMAND’ that developed from the session.

We live in a world that needs to accommodate an extra 3 billion people within 50 years. We also have a population that is ageing globally, and here in the U.K., the number of people aged 65+ is projected to rise by nearly 50% (48.7%) in the next 17 years to over 16 million. These two factors means that there will not be the manpower or financial resources to cope with this demographic shift unless we start to do something about it now.

Despite the fact that we live in a global and social world, we have not learned to communicate effectively between the generations to the point that technology and physical appearance divides us rather then bringing us together.

The purpose of the session was to highlight the facts, issues and opportunities that an ageing population poses and to offer a ‘COMMAND’ as to why all generations need to start to work collaboratively in order to build a sustainable ‘TimeFull’ future.

The session started with the image above, to reinforce the message that we need to establish the vision, the passengers and the journey before we start to go into the details of platforms and collaboration. We explored the definitions of perspectives and values within the different generations and the hash facts and implications of the ‘Silver Tsunami’ on the US and the rest of the world.

Some of these can be seen on the session’s slides.

The session was then opened up to get feedback on what the group heard saw and felt, and to get the group’s view on what areas they felt were potential subjects to begin this collaboration process. Two categories did emerge – they were a future vision for an ‘TimeFull Building Networks’, and creating a collaborative ageless asset image.

There was not enough time to discuss ‘Networks’, but the issue of how to prevent the digital divide becoming an issue between the different generations did get raised several times.

A animated video was subsequently produced to help summarise the session, and to reinforce the call to action.

A website and a Facebook page were also created to allow the debate to continue.

About Philip Carey -Views and Shoes ltd.
Philip is conducting personal projects that focus on seeing the world from another perspective. They all focus on finding new ways of communicating complexity and difference visually and simply in order to improve communication and to define a common vision.

He has a personal interest in the looking at new ways of living in an ageing society, and the desire to make it sustainable by the time he gets there – but realises that not enough is being done to make this a reality.

He is currently looking at new ways to communicate London visually see www.londonruns.com.

Uhh what's with the copy/paste and the [BLOCK] stuff?

All art is political. And you and @adm are thick, like Beavus and Butthead.
It's just over your heads... Thanks for the Downvotes Douche Bags!

@predator, you must be proud of the "Work" you do for the Steem network by looking for people who are plagiarizing... but if you ACTUALLY read my work, you would see that it's more like a collage and that I have linked back to the original author and original article. MOST people don't understand it which is why it's nice to work on SteemIt where I can slowly build up an audience and edit or change things as I go. Just because YOU can't appreciate it, ought to be the reason that you ignore it and move on... but since you asked your question in such a mouth breathing, low brow way, I can only assume you have mental difficulties so I wanted to be kind enough to answer your question, "Uhh what's with the copy/paste and the [BLOCK] stuff?"

Nice to know that ALL of the people who have been warning me about SteemIt weren't wrong. This community is filled with nothing but Bots and Early adopting Trolls with very little comprehension about what they're working with. Thanks for playing along!

Totally! But that's because there are Low IQ FuckFaces out there who down vote with impunity. Even their stupid comments make more than my post. Figure THAT out...

Shockwave rider is still my fav from Brunner. Stand on Zanzibar is still very excellent.

Finally! Someone who gets it! Thank you for sticking around with braincells.
Now If I can just get Asshats like @predator and his Flaggybot @adm to just disappear. I'd be set.
But actually, their idiocracy just adds to the story so no harm I guess. We always need the role of the closed minded to be filled by someone.
Thank you @lifeworship!

There's something I've been meaning to ask you, @frankbacon. Did you really get Bill Shakespeare to publish your work under his name?

Steemit, itself, reminds me of the 'boards' in 'Shockwave', and a few Steemians remind me of 'the worm'. I think we could do with a few more sci-fi readers here. This is, after all, a genuine sci-fi future we're living in, minus the fiction. I forgot to add 'The Crucible of Time' is also a singular novel, with few others even hinting in it's direction.

As far as the idiocracy, every village needs an idiot, but we might have a few too many.

"Did you really get Bill Shakespeare to publish your work under his name?"
Well, first of all, I think you're talking about Francis; I'm Franklin.
I'm the mistaken anarchist...
... the man, the myth, the mystery.
And I agree;

"I think we could do with a few more sci-fi readers here.
This is, after all, a genuine sci-fi future we're living in,
minus the fiction."

"Fiction," maybe, but there is a whole lotta magical sh!t on the loose now.
THAT'S the real Science ; )
And for the record, I was always more of a Robert Fludd fan myself.

The Boscovich book was the 'bible' to Tesla.

Bummer about Dan. I had my differences with him, but Steemit wouldn't be here without him, and neither would I. I hope we don't lose too many people from discouragement.

Sorry about that, Franklin, my mistake.

I do think a Fludd this way comes.

I am curious to know what you think of Roger Joseph Boscovich, and his 'A theory of natural philosophy'.

Thank you for the introduction. It's somewhat new to me so I'll check it out.
How about @dan news? Wild Huh?

I am still lost in this machine.
