Crafty; the new way to do business, it only gets better by the day!

The head teacher of this primary school needed passport picture of each student to form a kind of school magazine. He initially considered allowing each student to get the picture by them self but he soon realized that would pose a problem because most students wont comply and some may come in with poor quality shots as well.

He kept it forward to his staff and a conclusion was reached that instead of asking each student to produce the picture by themselves they should rather let their parents pay so they can organize them and get a photographer to do it in unison.
Perfect idea it was as you may say but there was a big problem to someone in the chain of events; the one who was to bear the cost of course.

This was what happened;

The headteacher asked one of his staff to look for a suitable photographer. After getting the photographer, this teacher asked how much it cost to take one photograph. The photographer told him it was $5 for one. The teacher then asked for a reduction and it was agreed that it will cost $3 per student since it was going to be on a mass level.

Immediately the photographer agreed to his terms, the teacher opened up another discussion. He wanted the photographer to quote $10 dollars per student to the head teacher so that he will take the extra $7 on each student. The photographer had very little options here since he really wanted the deal. He agreed and the next day the teacher sent him to meet the head teacher.

The head teacher asked to speak with the photographer alone. He inquired about the cost on each student just to confirm what the other teacher had told him already. He then went ahead to make a request that the photographer quotes $30 per student. He claimed the extra money on each student was to be used in running activities of the school.

Again the photographer agreed and it was announced to the students that each student should come with $30 the following week for the photo shoot.

When Ama got home, she went straight to her mom and told her about the photo shoot. “How much have they asked for?” the mom asked. “Each student is to bring $30” she replied. “Okay, I will tell your dad, but if he asks you say it is $50”. “Okay” the girl replied and ran off to play.

In the night the mom told her husband of the payment but instead of $30, she quoted $50. “What? Are they serious? $50 dollars for this?” the man ranted on but in the end he had no option but to bare the cost of this wicked system. He has to pay $50 for something that would have cost just $3 which is an inflation of 1567%

Self-employed individuals would not have the financial burden of having to spend so much on adverts. This will enable them have attention to satisfy their customers well and in return, they earn higher reputation and tokens.
