Cook With Us #28 - Bizzy Lizzy's CrazyShake
After a cold spell in Durban, summer suddenly made an appearance again, warning us of what's to come!
Yes, Durban gets steamy and unbearably hot from January through to mid March, and I've often felt like hubby and I should flee Durban then and visit the two fledglings up in Johannesburg. Those two always vie with each other for our attention so will be only too happy to have us there! But we would certainly flee back to Durbs, as it's fondly known by locals, when winter rears its frosty head!
But of course we cannot cannot desert our little Lily's Cottage guests now, can we!
So what better than a delicious frothy and creamy Tropical Banana Nut Milk Shake on a hot hot summer's day - although this bizzy Lizzy will have milk shake anytime, no matter what the weather!
Crazy milk shakes have been the rage all over the world and also here in surf city Durban - over the top creations that resemble the leaning Tower of Pisa with its weird and wonderful toppings, or perhaps the tower of Babel is more apt with all that confusion!
I've made a healthy, and not so healthy milkshake, sounds confusing I agree, but you will see what I mean!
The milkshake is made with everything good:
- Bananas - frozen
- Flaked Almonds
- Almond Milk
- Pineapple & Vanilla Frozen Yogurt
All blended together till thick, smooth and frothy
The sweet, sticky and indulgent toppings:
- Milky Sprinkles
- Silver Baubles
- Butter Cream
- White Chocolate dipped Marshmallow Kebab
- White Chocolate coated Cookies on a stick
Butter cream on top edges of pretty bottle, dipped in sprinkles; we call them 100s & 1000s
Lid also covered in butter cream, sprinkles and silver baubles & stars piped around edges
Tell me who does not enjoy licking out the butter cream bowl!
I really enjoyed having the milkshake on its own, but gave the one with the trimmings to our housekeeper who in turn shared it with the gardener, there was just too much sweetness on the outside for one person!

That is the fanciest milk shake I have ever scene for sure. I bet it was delicious.
Oh it was way too sweet to have all by myself Mr Papper, but it would have set the scene for a kiddies birthday party though ;);)

Great entry @lizelle I like the fact that you provide the options to be good or bad. I like how they look so cute and refreshing. We had a weird weekend here very cold and raining on Saturday and all sunny and warm on Sunday. You never know when a milkshake is in order in Melbourne!
