Cook With Us Week #16 | Bento’s Margarita Pizza 🇮🇹

Being 1/4 Italian, (the proof being in my surname), I love Italian cuisine and have had the best pizza when I visited Rome, but today was the first time I made pizza from scratch as I usually cook healthier dishes :)


I got the idea from my inspiration Jamie Oliver and improvised

1 1/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
7g dried yeast / bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup fat free milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon caster sugar


1 clove of garlic
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
(For a sweetened taste, you can add a few teaspoons of tomato sauce)

Because I love tomatoes, I added thin slices to the layer of tomato sauce and being in Cyprus, I added delicious Greek feta cheese but one could use buffalo mozzarella as an alternative. I grated mozzarella cheese over my pizza and baked in the oven on 200 degrees celsius for 15-20 minutes.


Once cooked, I then added fresh avocado, wild rocket leaves and lots of black pepper:) enjoy

Loved the heart shape:) i usually stick to the good old margarita pizza but Avocado on pizza! Thats a first for me, would be intresting to try that out! Good luck @lesbento!

I love that you went out of your way to try something new by making the crust from scratch. Your pizza not only looks lovely but it sounds delicious. The simplicity of the ingredients makes one appreciate the eating experience. Topping it with avocado and rocket leaves is my kind of pizza. Definitely something I do myself. It gives the eating experience a lift!

I think that it is great that you made pizza from scratch for the first time. Pizza can be a healthful dish when you make it on your own. Your version is very healthful. I like the simplicity of your pizza. I often add arugula (rocket) to my pies. I like how the fresh peppery greens lighten up the crust, sauce and cheese. It is also cool how when you make the dough yourself you can shape it any way you want and you made a heart! Thanks for your entry!
