Food photo tips + Winners for the 8th Photocircle Food contest!

Hi Steemians!

We are glad to have completed yet another run of the food photo contest, we are now announcing the winners for the 8th round!

Moving on, we're glad to finally come-up with our decisions on who did we think have presented the best food photography for the contest. Weekends are usually the best time to create these photos, since we normally prepare something bountiful as a way to feel good after a long weekday of work.

Before we proceed to the announcement of winners, we'll be sharing to you some quick tips on how you can improve the composition of your food photos. These are simple guide or rule that will serve as a good starting point for your food shots today.

Tip #1: Rule of Thirds

This is probably one of the most popular way to compose an image and it is for a simple reason that it works most of the time. Our DSLRs or even smartphones have this feature on the screen of the camera. These are the 4 lines that divide the screen into 3 equal parts, both horizontally and vertically. This technique was discussed on one of the Photocircle Digest articles entitled "The Rule of Thirds", click here to read more about it.

Tip #2: S-Curve

Another good way of composing a food photo is by arranging the elements within the frame in such a way they are align along an imaginary S-curve. The idea behind this guide is to provide the viewer a fluid experience in looking at the elements of the photo. It gives a better direction as to how the elements should be arranged.
