STEEM-POCALYPSE UPDATE PLUS NEW CONTEST IDEA
Whatever happened to Season 7 of the STEEM-Pocalypse Survival Game Contest?
Man, the STEEM-Pocalypse contest was huge success. It even birthed a few spinoffs like the STEEM-Pocalypse Show and the 'Pocalypse Poetry Contest. At the moment though, life is hitting me hard. I've got a ton going on and I am really appreciating the break from running that contest. Even with help it was still a very time demanding and mentally fatiguing game to run.
That said, I do plan on starting it back up again, just not yet.
NEW CONTEST IDEA?
In the mean time, I was considering running a different contest, but using the same player-elimination / growing prize pool style that the STEEM-Pocalypse had. I was considering some sort of "daily selfie challenge." Basically, I would come up with certain criteria for the selfie on a daily basis and players would then have 24 hours to post a qualifying selfie. Players who missed the deadline or fail to meet the requirements would be eliminated, and the rest would continue on to the next round.
Since "selfies" are so popular anyways today, I thought that it would be a good challenge. Also, since people really don't make money off of selfies, I thought that this would go a long way into showing the difference that steemit makes. Perhaps someone will even take home a few hundred dollars in the contest.
Besides the final prize pool, I would also award points for each round for things like the "best selfie" and the "most creative" selfie. This way individual players would have a chance to earn some SBD even if they did not win the contest.
It'll also provide us with some fun, creative, and entertaining community interaction during the downtime from the STEEM-Pocalypse game.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Would anyone be interesting in playing a "daily selfie elimination challenge" for a chance to win some SBD? If so, please let me know below. If I get enough interest, I'll do a startup post in the next few days.

I think it's a great idea but only as long as the participants stay within their safety limits. You get to hear a lot of news about deaths while trying to take selfies, mainly due to negligence. Just a few days ago in India, three students were run over by a train while trying to take selfies.
I hope the participants are well aware of their surroundings at all times.

Oh that's tragic. Do you remember planking? I'm honestly surprised I never heard of anyone falling to their doom, with some of the photos people took doing that.
Don't quite remember planking, didn't have an internet connection back then. But I'd read about it in the newspapers. People take fads way too seriously!

I don't know @papa-pepper - eating roadkill, running from infected animals and zombies, stealing guns (and dying) all sounds like a lot of fun.
Putting up pictures of me on the interweb is likely to be traumatizing for young children and dogs.
But if you start it up I'll give it a go, and let the tears fall where they may ;-)

That sounds like a great idea. Given your repertoire of "Proof of ..." selfies, I am a little nervous thinking about what challenges you might create. Kiss a Cobra? Groom a 'gator? Pet a porcupine?
O no i didn't think of that. I aint doin' none o that...LOL
