SCAR STORY CONTEST - Show your scar, Tell the story, Win some steem dollars! - It's just that easy!
Life is rough, and often our bodies bear the marks that can testify to that truth. Accidents, surgeries, and even some intentional activities can all put a few scars on our bodies.
Since that’s the case, @papa-pepper is starting a Scar Story Contest. This will give us a chance to share some stories about some of the events that we’ve been through and interact a little more within the community.
Much like the Tattoo Story Contest that I am running, there is only a few simple things that you need to do in order to enter the contest.
• Take a picture of your scar with the words “SCAR STORY CONTEST” written nearby to verify.
• Post the picture of the scar.
• Share the story of how you got the scar.
• Tag your post #scarstorycontest and whatever other tags you feel are appropriate.
• Wait and win! (hopefully)
A winner and two runners up will be picked. The contest will run until September 20th at midnight, CST.
The winner will get 50% of the SBD from the first payout of this post and the Winner’s Announcement.
Two runner ups will each get 25% of the same.
Example
This scar is from the second time I got bit by a muskrat. I know, how could I not learn my lesson after the first time, right? Well, I didn’t.
Some work mates and I were helping a buddy clear out his garage, and there happened to be a muskrat in it. Once I saw that guy take off, naturally I took off, and before long, I had caught it, no problem. Seriously, it was no problem.
The problem came into play because alcohol was involved. An old drunk that worked with us asked if he could pet it. I knew instantly that this was a terrible idea, and told him NO. However, my drunken mind kept thinking, and soon, I said, “Hold on, let me check.”
I must have been holding it by the tail with my left hand. The second that my right hand touched its back, it spun on me and cut my pinkie finger wide open. I didn’t care too much, and bandaged it up myself. However my girlfriend at the time finally convinced me to go in to the Emergency Room.
I thought that since it was a semi-aquatic mammal, rabies wasn’t a big concern. Since it had been a few hours, I figured that stitches were no longer an option and I didn’t need surgery, but I went anyway. They basically told me what I already knew and gave me some soapy water and a towel so I could clean it. Then, they brought me some bandages so I could bandage it.
The bill? Two hundred and some dollars, even though they didn’t tell me anything new and made me do all the work.
The moral of the story? Muskrats and alcohol don’t mix, and if they happened to get mixed up, skip the Emergency Room.

I would participate but the only scar I have is from my c-sections. They're a wee bit too low to post publicly. The last thing I want is my pubes on the blockchain. LOL But I'm going to add #idea-bank because I think this is exactly what @phoenixmaid wants for people who've hit writer's block and need ideas for a post :)
I have a scar resulting from having an entire human removed from me too. HARD CORE MUMMA SCAR.

Better get a box of tissues. My story of the scar across my head, under my hair will surely bring you to anger then tears of jubilation when I tell you how I've recovered. Getting on the writing right away.

But seriously, Just curious. Just wanting an idea. I guess you're reading them as they come in, more or less. I really loved writing my story and sharing it with people. I've know Quinn Eaker a couple of decades and this is the first he has heard this story about me. The man is not easily shocked but this shocked him.

The scars in your tongue are interesting too!
I completely forgot them, because on tongue the scars heal real quick. They were from a smithing ritual, for purification I had to lick some red hot iron. Normal shamans lick hot stones, and darkhan rituals are all about iron and other metals though. You have to lick it three times, and while first was ok, it is a little scary. The hot iron is really tasty though! I'll probably save it for the post about shamanism, but I'll tag it with apropriate tag too. Even if the contest is over. 8) BTW, I am currently in a series of pubs in Ulan-Ude called Duff. They have a whole wall picture from Simpsons. :-D This will probably go into a post about Ulan-Ude.

It is the capital of Republic of Buryatia, which is part of Russia, and is to the east of lake Baikal, and to the north of Mongolia. Hmm, Siberia is probably the place you've heard about. :-D

Hello everyone! After I pulled the glass from the window frame , and it ( a large piece of glass left ) ... I was able to take a plaster , and tighten them. That's the story.

It barely nicked me and didn't hurt much. When they cut my BDU's away it looked like a fuckin Stephen King movie though.
