MINNOWS FEEDING FRENZY – SEASON 2 ROUND 1 – 4 SBD Prize Pool so far

in #contest7 years ago (edited)

Welcome to the first round of Season 2, dear Minnows!

(“Minnows Feeding Frenzy” is a chance-based survival contest, where game outcomes are decided by two factors: a random name picker and a die. No direct action is required on behalf of the players for the duration of the entire season. New rounds are published on a daily basis. The complete set of rules and explanation of the game mechanics can be found in the Season Registration post.)

We are about to begin face-offs in Round 1. First the pairs will be formed, using a random name picker. The pairs will be posted in the comments below. When two minnows with non-equal weights meet in a face-off, the larger one automatically wins, and proceeds to the next round, having grown by the loser’s weight. If two minnows have the exactly same weight, then I will roll a die for each pair of players to decide the face-off’s outcome in each pair. The comments will be updated, one by one, after every dice roll. Once all face-offs are completed, this post will be updated with the list of minnows perished in this round and those who proceeded further to the next round, along with their updated weights.

This is a link to the registration post

For the sake of transparency anyone can freely view (but not edit, obviously) the spreadsheet where I keep the records of players, individual face-offs in each round, dice roll results, players’ weights, and the outcomes of every round. Make sure you switch to the Season 2 to view the current season. The previous season’s records were saved and are available in the Season 1 tab of the spreadsheet.

A few words regarding upvotes of this post. Right now the Prize Pool for the Season 2 is about 4 SBD, which is 50% of the estimated SBD payout for the Season Registration Post. Potential earnings from each new round’s post will be added to the Prize Pool (50% of every round’s post’s SBD payout). The more upvotes each round receives, the greater will the total prize pool become. It is not mandatory to upvote, but it will increase the payout to minnows with three largest weights achieved by the end of the season. It is therefore in the self-interest of all the minnows remaining in the game to upvote and promote the Season’s posts.

And please remember: all the outcomes are decided purely by chance. So no hard feelings if you get eliminated, okay? ;)

Sort:

1. @pipiczech, weight 50 g
VS
2. @bigpanda, weight 50 g

Dice roll 5. These two minnows begin to fight, exchange a few bites and blows, then realise that none of them is going to win this battle without losing a few fins or an eye. Is it really worth getting crippled for life as one meal’s price? Probably not. They both arrive to the same conclusion. They stop fighting, back down slowly from each other and, once there’s safe distance between them, turn around and swim as fast they can in the opposite directions. Paradoxially, both those ways lead to Round 2. The only thing that’s not surprising about this outcome is that the both minnows’ weight remain unchanged, 50 g.

1. @shikika, weight 50 g
VS
2. @djmalith, weight 50 g

Dice roll 6. When @shikika was in school she read a poem by the famous fish writer, Herman Minnowille. She got particularly inspired by this line of the poem: “I love to swim forbidden seas…”. So, when @shikika graduated from the minnows school, she went on exploring the seas around her home Philippine Sea. Swiming farther and farther west, she eventually ended up in a warm sea outside the coast of Sri Lanka. There she met @djmalith. The two young minnows became friends and even explored some coral reefs together for a while.

Now, years later, they meet again! There’s so much to catch up on, so many stories to share!.. The two minnows talk late into the night, laughing and reminiscing the crazy years of their youth. They even forget their natural drive to feed. Finally, it’s time to part ways. They promise each other that when the destiny brings them together again, it will be on friendly terms. They swim on towards Round 2, each weighing 50 g.

Hi @oleg326756 😀 Thank you! 😀 I am so happy to find a friend @djmalith 😀💖 Having a true friend to share, to laugh, to cry on, to hold on is a treasure. Hope we'll make it to the finish round by supporting each other. May @shikika and @djmalith be friends forever. 😀 Til we see each other again @djmalith. 😀

1. @raserrano, weight 50 g
VS
2. @practicaleric, weight 50 g

Dice roll 2. @practicaleric’s moves and bites are calculated and effecient. Practical as always, he doesn’t spend too much energy nor wastes any time bringing down his less disciplined opponent. @raserrano tries a few surprising attacks, false blows, chaotic swings of his tail – but nothing gets past @practicaleric’s defense. The outcome is predictable: @practicaleric emerges as the winner. He munches on his fallen enemy’s meat methodically, then takes off to Round 2, choosing the most effecient route. @practicaleric’s weight is now 100 g.

Wait!!! what I was wondering why iI was not in round2 :/ too bad I died in first round

Yes, tough luck, mate… I was genuinely sorry to see you fall so soon. So young, so full of life, filled with hopes and dreams!.. :'-(

I'm so happy with my weekly giveway program inspired in yours. Here is Episode 5 help me reach more minnows and help them

Next time! my friend I will be in the final round :D

1. @kubbyelizabeth, weight 50 g
VS
2. @basilmarples, weight 50 g

Dice roll 3. Entering this fight, @basilmarples feels composed and focused. If only his physical fitness level matched the level of his confidence!! Theirs is a kind of fight where raw strength and fighting skills trump positive thinking, believing in yourself, self-assurance and all the other octopus crap that @basilmarples’ instructor fed him in the minnows fighting dojo. The @basilmarples’ little minnow face’s death mask bears an expression of utter surprise. @kubbyelizabeth nervously eats up her daily meal, glancing this way and that, as she’s feeding. She’s not at all sure about her chances in the ongoing feeding frenzy. It might not necessarily be a bad thing, however, as this first encounter proven. Finally, @kubbyelizabeth is ready to swim to the next round. Her weight is now 100 g.

may the best little fishy win!

dagenham and redshire! I need more physical training! I'll be back.....

1. @brandongiesing, weight 50 g
VS
2. @anitafigueroa, weight 50 g

Dice roll 6. The minnows decide to resolve their difference by discussing them in a calm, respectful manner. Soon enough they discover that they don’t have any good reasons to fight. They shake fins politely, wish each other good luck on their respective journeys, and part ways, both heading to Round 2, still weighing 50 g each.

1. @theleapingkoala, weight 50 g
VS
2. @whutswhat, weight 50 g

Dice roll 2. Right from the get go @theleapingkoala goes for her signature move and leaps towards her opponent. Alas, the move that always served @theleapingkoala so well on land turns out to be much less spectacular in the aquatic environment. Confused by the water resistance, @theleapingkoala stops in the midst of her attack and @whustwhat seizes the opportunity and delivers a series of quick bites to the gills, fins and tail. @whutswhat emerges the undisputed winner of the encounter and, having feasted on delicious and exotic koala-minnow, @whutswhat swims to Round 2 weighing 100 g now.

I believe in you Dr.Koala! You can do it!

Your beliefs have been crushed >:-)

dang.... I totally thought we had this Dr.K, but looks like we both need more training! congratulations mr.what

*Ms. ;P Thanks! Better luck next time :)

I beg your pardon ms.what. I really should do my research first...... Best of luck in the competition! :) x B

Oi-oi-oi, a scary little minnow!! 8-o The outcome of your fight will be revealed soon! ;)

Sounds scary but I have no clue what that means. 8-0 doesn't sound very promising. :D

1. @sumatranate, weight 50 g
VS
2. @anyway, weight 50 g

Dice roll 4. @sumatranate offers @anyway a deal: if @anyway can solve a puzzle that @sumatranate created, then the latter will surrender without a fight. It takes some effort, but in the end @anyway is successful in solving the complicated logical puzzle. As they move the last piece of the puzzle into position, @sumatranate makes a surprising attack. @anyway jerks in panic and shutters the completed puzzle. The pieces are flowing in all directions! One of them hits @sumatranate in the eye. Blinded by the pain and visually impaired by the loss of sight on the right side, @sumatranate gets literally blindsided by @anyway, who throws their entire tiny weight into the blow to @sumatranate’s head. The blow turns out to be fatal. *“I’d rather chew on this puzzle!”, mutters @anyway, as they pick bits meat from @sumatranate’s fishbones. Once the feeding is over, @anyway swims to Round 2, promising themselves not to trust words of another minnow ever again. Their new weight is now 100 g.

win yehey thank you.
