The Gray Cloud | micro-fiction contest by karupanocitizen

in #contest5 years ago (edited)

A dense gray cloud obscured the vision of Federation President Jhon Hart, he could not even determine where the portal had left him, but he was sure this was not the oval office five months before the disaster as they had planned. However, everything seemed so sinisterly familiar.

As I walked through the dense cloak, I could not stop thinking about what had happened a few minutes before, minutes? Even I did not know.

The heavy fog not only made it hard for him to breathe, but it also clouded his perception of things and nullified his mind.

He recognized himself walking through a ghostly New York, whose streets seemed stopped in time. The restaurants were still open, although there were no diners. The traffic lights giving instructions to lit vehicles but without any passenger driver.

He could not understand if the bitter cloud of death had hidden the sun or made it run away from the city.

—My God!, but what happened? What have I done?

As @jayna recommended, I tried to continue the story started last week in the previous challenge. I apologize for my grammatical errors, I do not speak English and I do what I can with the google traslate and gramarly ... I'm sorry.

I hope you enjoyed my story for the micro-fiction contest organized by @jayna. If you want to participate, check the rules of the contest here

¡We keep reading!

I think your story translated fine! I enjoyed it! :)

He recognized himself walking through a ghostly New York, whose streets seemed stopped in time. The restaurants were still open, although there were no diners. The traffic lights giving instructions to lit vehicles but without any passenger driver.

This line in particular I really enjoyed. It was easy to imagine and brings a sense of foreboding with it. Well done! :)

A new prompt has been born! Come join us for Day 543

I'm really glad you enjoyed my story!. I can not write without fear in English because I do not know the language, you do not know how happy I am that the message has arrived correctly.

I appreciate your comment @kaelci I will keep trying, once again thank you very much.

I agree with @kaelci, @karupanocitizen. The translation is quite good, and easy to follow. I imagined the president trying to step back in time, to prevent a disaster before it happened, only to find himself in some creepy alternate universe.

He recognized himself walking through a ghostly New York, whose streets seemed stopped in time. The restaurants were still open, although there were no diners. The traffic lights giving instructions to lit vehicles but without any passenger driver.

Well done!

I'm very glad that the translation was good. It is really a stimulus to know that the message of history can be clearly captured by the readers. Mucchas thanks @jayna y @kaelci for the support.
