The Old Dog Presents: Spiders As Engineers and Artist - St Andrews Cross Spider !!
Today was a beautiful sunny day in Bangkok but we did have what they call a sun shower later in the afternoon just about when the sun was about to set so i decided to grab a glass of red wine and walk up to my rooftop we have lovely garden up there and after a bit of light rain it's always refreshing on the rooftop to watch the sunset. As i am walking around with glass of red wine in hand admiring all the beautiful flowers and plants with water droplets dripping of them i spot this unusual spider-wed like made up in alphabetical letters or Roman numerals i had never seen ever a spider-web constructed in this shape or form this was some engineering going on here.
I quickly remembered the spider-web contest by @kus-knee luckily us Steemers are always armed up and ready to shoot we can't help ourselves we always need a device in our hands whether be a camera or a mobile phone.
I am giving this in Black and White also just hopping that it will highlight the spider-web more. Well to my surprise as i am clicking away this grizzly colorful spider appears in front of my lens did i jump back a few steps yes i certainly did and almost dropped the phone on the spiders head...lol :)
But i quickly got back to clicking away i wanted this on camera cause i have never seen a spider so scary with such unusual color striping.
Although it was a scary moment not knowing what sort of spider this was whether it was harmless or poisonous i tried to get every angle i could without upsetting him or her , the things we do for Steemit...lol.
Sorry if the photos are a little out of focus i didn't exactly feel to comfortable getting close up....check out the sharpness of them daggers on the legs image them been injected into you sending shivers up my spine thinking about it.
I did find out later when i google him or her that it is a St Andrews Cross Spider it's non-venomous and doesn't eat humans and is a great fly catcher. One amazing and educational find all intact spider and roman numeral web.

Thank you @pixresteemer :)
Cool shots, my friend! Oh how I'd wish to have seen this photo session. My friend screaming like a girl when the big bad spider appeared. 😂
Good luck with the contest!
Haha...i bet if you were standing beside me you would of jump on my back with fright....lol :)
I am not what one would call a connoisseur of spiders but I have to admit this one has a certain charm and great weaving skills. Nicely done, hangin:)
Thank you my friend i was certainly impressed in this spiders engineering that would of taken some time to construct :)
