A Favorite Freewrite

Every Tuesday, you have a chance to win a membership to Steem Basic Income, SBI, at the Freewrite House.

Try to win one, my friends. An everlasting vote on your posts is nothing to sneeze at.

We want to make it super easy for you. Your task is to tell us in the comment section about one - or more- freewrites of others you have read in the last couple of days you really liked. Yup, not your own!!

Remember the comment must be at least 50 words long - no upper limit 🤪

See the rules below for details.

In an ideal world, you also give that person a nice upvote - but we are not going to check on that.

So, to be entered into the drawing, tell us about a freewrite you really liked and why. Choose from the last couple of days so others can go, visit inspired by your description, and leave a vote.

I must confess I'm picking the only one I have the time to read however it's delightful and speaks to my heart. @d00k13 and his fiance' "my rock" he calls her as he slowly and lovingly encourages her to learn not only how to work a camera for his travel vlogging, he's helping her feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera as well. He's kind and he loves his woman and he loves his dream. I wish them both the utmost success in their journey together! 🦋 https://steemit.com/freewrite/@d00k13/prompt-of-the-day-passenger--together-we-will-be-unstoppable-84449utd

Thank you kindly 🙏

I have two favorites this week from the “passenger” prompt.

First is @wonderwop’s tale of driving his cat to get chemo treatments.

https://steemit.com/freewrite/@wonderwop/day-397-freewrite-wednesday-prompt-passenger

I had no idea there was chemo for cats, and I want to know how much this costs, and if it is covered by pet insurance. But we do not find this out from @wonderwop today. Instead he tells us of his cat’s uncanny ability to sense the car’s place in the world as they drive. Even though she cannot see out of her carrier, she know’s what’s up!

Next, I enjoyed @dook13’s description of working with his SO to create steemit posts.

https://steemit.com/freewrite/@d00k13/prompt-of-the-day-passenger--together-we-will-be-unstoppable-84449utd

Whether he is the passenger in the car or the driver, they are working as a team to develop the skills needed for blogging. He mentions the issues of being uncomfortable in front of the camera and not wanting to call attention to themselves. These are things I struggle with daily. It’s nice to see see two people working it out as they go.

And they do not look uncomfortable at all. There are some great photos in this post, so I think they are progressing very well. Also mentioned is the fact that this all takes place when they are driving “up island.” This phrase intrigues me but is not explained. I guess I will have to look for more posts!

And thank you for the extra day for entering this contest. I just read and noticed I have more time now. I try to get in each week and this will help me succeed.

It probably is only for this week since it is Thanksgiving in the States. But maybe we start publishing it on Mondays to give one more day. The reason it has a short window is that we are using the recommendations in the digest and want the posts to be in the voteable timeframe if possible.

I get that about the timing. I will do my best to follow through! Hopefully good wifi is on its way.

Deeply appreciate it my dear, “up Island” literally means driving north on Vancouver island or back to our home town 😉

That's a big island! Thanks for letting me know :)

I'd like to recommend @marie-jay's Rats freewrite, a vivid account of the grim life of 12-year-old Laurie, a flattener in the rat hole, an existence so wretched that she considers it a favour when she's told that she'll soon be old enough to work as a prostitute. The king Pete character put me in mind of Fagan in Oliver Twist.
Well worth a read!

I would like to recommend a very realistic freewrite from @wordymouth. In this piece, he delves into the experience of a homeless man in Las Vegas who loathes his current lifestyle. The writer, using believable description, draws us into the hustle and bustle of Vegas and into the spirit of a broken man.

from @elizacheng

Here are some of the freewrites I enjoy reading.

From @iamjadeline - 2018 will soon be gone | Freewrite's Prompt - Be Gone Time flies, In about 5 weeks time, we will be saying goodbye 2018 and welcoming 2019.

From @zephalexia - Weekend-5-minute-Freewrite : Important Announcement ( my #up-gage challenge) It's really awesome and cool of her supporting fellow Steemians with her Up-Gage Challenge. If you have no idea what is the Up-Gage Challenge all about, do check it out...

Thanks for putting my comment in the right post... 😘

You are welcome!!

https://steemit.com/freewrite/@aejackson/passenger-5-minute-freewrite-0131202be35ffest

I found this story by @aejackson on the prompt, passenger just now. It's a story about an woman traveling by train in the old wild west. It seems like she smuggled a passenger on the train with her but they went their separate way when she reached her destination. I won't ruin the ending for you, so make sure you give this a read. 👍
