Welcome to Week Three of my new Steemit Contest, Write FROM my Music. Since there were no submissions by Friday's deadline, the current rewards from last week of .480 SBD have been carried over to this week's contest.

There was a Saturday submission by @felt.buzz that was quite excellent (but unfortunately past the deadline; he actually declined any prize in his entry post - that's a guy that's in this for the love of writing), and you should definitely check it out and send an upvote and comment his way.

One new rule is this: if less than three submissions are made by Friday midnight, the contest prize carries over to the following week. Slight change to the timeline as well; winners announced by 5 pm on Mondays.

Like to write? Like music? Well have I got a challenge for you!

WRITE ME A STORY BASED ON MY INSTRUMENTAL SONG

Here are the Rules:

All submissions must be original works of fiction / nonfiction written for this contest. To qualify you will need to follow these steps:

  3. Write an original story based on my tune between 50 - 1500 words in length.
  4. Make a post in your channel and post the link in the comment section here.

One request (non mandatory) is for you to include the hashtag #writefrommymusic with your post.

  • 2nd Place 35% of SBD from today's post

Submissions deadline is this Friday Midnight EST North America. On Saturday by noon I will post the top three and then open the contest for voting of 1st place (2nd and 3rd will be based on how many votes for 1st each got, to keep it simple). This will run until Sunday Midnight. Monday 5 pm I will announce the winners and pay out the prizes.

Please note I will be checking for duplicated content. I want original stories inspired by my music.

Your support and participation is vital to keep this contest going! Encourage everyone you know to UPVOTE & RESTEEM and grow the prize amount for you to win!

THANK YOU FOR GETTING INVOLVED AND I LOOK FORWARD TO READING ALL OF YOUR WORK

@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #18. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.

The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.

If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest List I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.

P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!

You're welcome.

I gave up thepinkrabbit contest because there was no one interested. I wish I had known this. Nice idea!

Thanks! Why not resurrect thepinkrabbit?

No I think about something else, so I probably will come back to you in some time :-)

New here and just checking out Steemit contests so this was helpful and I'll be following it up. Thanks.

what a great idea! I will listen to this later, and see what it will pop up in my mind. You are resteemed so I wil not forget :-)

you call it a song but i hear no singing? is that wright?

Well, to be honest I totally neglected to look up the term, which is pretty embarrassing.... I've always made instrumental compositions and thought of them as songs, but you're right, according to the dictionary.

I'll change it to "instrumental tune". The reason I thought an instrumental would work is that it would be perhaps redundant to ask people to write something that was already based in words. Like "write a poem from my poem".

To be fair, there is a definition for "songs without words", as well as a classical composition. But I'll still go with the edit to avoid further confusion.

Actually, after giving it some thought I'm going to stick with my original conception and call it a song. Please excuse my artistic fretting over this. I hope you will still participate in the contest.

hahaha I actually meant, have I not done anything wrong? I That there is no singing in a song is oke to me :-) But I do have a problem, I listened yesterday and it did not appeal to me. Now I am someone that thinks when you can not like it, you better do not write anything, because it would damage your creativity. If you understand what I mean?

Yes I understand. Maybe next week's music will appeal to you more.

As a follower of @followforupvotes this post has been randomly selected and upvoted! Enjoy your upvote and have a great day!

Ok, challenge accepted!
I click on the link and there we go.
UAAHHGGHHH is this terrible!
OMG I'm not even in 30 sec and my backhair is standing.
This sounds like a cat and a dog singing along with a sirene!
Ok, now it's changing at about 1 minute
The guitar makes a melody, sort of.
Background still mind bending, but I focus on the guitar.
Puuuh it's fading out, the trip is over.
OMG do I deserve the contest reward!

Relax, you'll be fine...
