What's in your library challenge!

in #contest6 years ago (edited)

Well Steemit, here is what's in my library:

Typically, I read science fiction and some fantasy, but also, an assortment of other things too. @wizardave orignally put up this challenge:
https://steemit.com/contest/@wizardave/what-s-in-your-library-challenge-by-wizardave check it out.

First, I love all my books; however, these are some of my most cherished...
I have too many favorite books to name them all, but a top pick is : Rendezvous with RAMA by Arthur C. Clark; for me is like the 'Hobbit' of science fiction, it is a journey and an adventure I can read over and over again.
the science fiction section

some random things and a little fantasy on these shelves

A row of mostly Sci-Fi DVDs

and last, some of my programming books.
More reading recommendations:
The Gateway series by Frederik Pohl (If your a fan of Elon Musk and his accomplishments you might find this series enjoyable)

Contact (or anything by) Carl Sagan.

Neuromancer by William Gibson

Ringworld by Larry Niven

Blood Music by Greg Bear (all of his book are great!)

And any of the Robot novels by Isaac Asimov (he is my favorite author)

There are a lot more books to write about, but I would just wind up listing all of them, and I want you to get an idea about me from the books I read as a takeaway from this post.
I hope the pics are clear enough (zoom in) to see my book titles clearly, and that you possibly get a better understanding of who I am.

Thank you for viewing.

I love how beautifully neat and organised yours are ...I love the Asimov series and read them every few years. I liked Heinlein too. And Neuromancer. I love sci fi books and movies... though I neglected them somewhat on my contribution to this challenge! Would love for you to pop over and see mine x

Thank you very much for looking at my books! :-)

If you're a fan of Science Fiction, and being neat and organized... I definitely will pop over and take a look!

Wow, i could seriously get lost in your sci fi shelf @cyber.explorer that's a great selection. And top marks for the top shelf too 😊
Wishing you a wonderful day

Ooooo we have that Dragonology book too! Its awesome! :D
We have more books than we know what to do with, and they are not very photogenic right now, haha.

Yes we have the Dragonolgy one too!

Thanks for the plug @cyber.explorer!
Nice to meet the books that helped shape you! A picture is worth a thousand words!

  • Asimov should be required reading for any modern day tech gurus tinkering with AI, robots and such! I have read dozens of his books. Hey, just an idea, maybe you could be an ethics consultant for all those high-tech companies out there!?!? 😏
  • I see a gem that I own. Einstein's Theory of Relativity !!! I read that like 3 times in a row when I ran across it. It was written in a way my feeble brain could actually comprehend it!
  • Computer books and a few electrical books. Do you own a soldering gun? My first career was as an electronic tech. And unfortunately, even with all the available computer info available for free online, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and spend the big bucks to get one of those big books. They are just too handy to not have around...
    • As far as those DVDs, I've watched most of them and own quite a few of the same ones.

Anyway, thanks for sharing a bit of who you are with me and the world. 😎

Good luck in the contest!

Thanks! Yes, you have made a pretty good assumption of my interests and hobbies, I do own my own soldering iron, lol, I used to work in electronics' manufacturing. And I also have a huge interest in A.I. ethics, and I think that Asimov should be required reading for almost anyone.

Thank you for posting this challenge; it is really fun to look through other people's libraries!
