Is the US Navy being hacked? Should I build a shelter?

On August 20 the USS John Mcain was hit by a merchant vessel in southeast Asia. Seven sailors reported missing or dead. On June 18 The USS Fitzgerald was hit by a merchant vessel in Singapore. Ten sailors were reported missing or dead . These were 2 of four accidents reported this year. The Navy is investigating these accidents to see if they were results of cyber attacks . There is no official word about what they think. Right now the accidents have been blamed on human error and top officers have been relieved of duty.

OK , so thats a little scary! This is the mighty US Navy we are talking about being taken out by cargo ships. I cannot imagine how that could even be possible once never mind four times this year.

In other news

Venezuela has stopped accepting US dollars for Oil in order to get around US sanctions.

The petrodollar is any U.S. dollar paid to oil-exporting countries in exchange for oil. Since the dollar is a global currency, all international transactions are priced in dollars. As a result, oil-exporting nations must receive dollars. That makes their national income dependent on the dollar's value. If it falls, so does the government's revenue. Kimberly Ameado . Link to article here.

Since when do little countries like Venezuela have the guts to stand up to US foreign policy. This would have never been tolerated in the past. Other countries like Russia and Iran have also moved away from the petrodollar. Are we witnessing a shift in global power?

Speaking of the News

I have not seen any of this reported in mainstream media. I see news about Hurricanes, Mass Shootings, and too many stories about kneeling for the national anthem and Donald trumps latest Twitter tweets. I have to go with my gut here and something doesn't feel right. It could be that they are purposely, not telling us something.

Conspiracy

Cries of "Fake news and FUD) all around me. But here are some facts. The economy has not recovered since 2008. Interest rates are at zero and can only go negative at this point. More money and more debt have been added to the system. The only thing holding up the house of cards in confidence in the dollar. The United States does not manufacture many products and depends on foreign trade for goods and services. Here are some things that are not facts but I think are interesting theories. Countries like Russia and China have developed technology which has rendered our military ineffective. The Dollar is on its last leg and will eventually collapse. The world will shift into a new currency and the US will not be the leader. This will have a drastic impact on the standard of living of Americans.

In Summary

What can an average Joe like me do? How can I not panic and buy into fear, and at the same time look out for the best interests of my family? What do I do with my money in the bank and my pension funds? How can I live in a more self-sustainable way? Grow my own food? Solar and wind energy? Do I go out and buy bars of gold and silver? If I do how do I keep them safe? Should I start amassing weapons? What would be the responsible thing to do? I think that these are some serious questions and serious concerns.

Sort:

Tho i keep my distance from politics i cant agree more, the collapse is coming, also known as a great tribulation, bible has fortold this and we have to be ready and put faith in our creator for lack of a better explaination, beacuse honestly what is more important then life & love, god is love and life he gave to us, faith is a choice and he gave us the freedom to make our own choices, so lets make good ones, right... be well and dont live in fear, live with hope and prosperity. For we cant change whats coming but we can change how we view it.

We only have the power to change ourselves'

why?

You want an explanation?

For sure zombie market is way overvalued, the world is passing around worthless paper to each other, only time will tell who is the last one holding the bag. Any significant raise in rates will obliterate the market

worthless paper. haha,

There is no way they can raise the rates. Thats why they are stuck.

I think 90% of the population doesn't want to hear (and not to speak of answer) the questions from the summary although they are essential if things go south suddenly for whatever reason.

At the end I think for those of the 10% (probably less) it needs to be added that for the case it is really getting serious, they have to think in advance for the other 90% in their environment as well.

Because if you don't do that and they know you are prepared (or see that the electricity is still running in your house) they will come after you on day 3.

definitely scary stuff to think about. But I think its necessary. You are right. How do we protect ourselves?

yeah

It would be pretty difficult to render one of the most combat-experienced militaries in the world ineffective so I wouldn't lose a whole lot of sleep over that.
Americans are resourceful, at least they used to be and if things start to cost too much to import due to a weak USD people will start to make things at home - bonus: US exports will increase since they are cheaper.
Power shifts all the time, but if you think the US will not be a world power in some way, think again. Everyone wants 350 million customers for their crap - the US has that. Look at all the folks trying to get their goods into the hands of Chinese consumers.
True, your paper dollars under your bed and in your bank could become pretty worthless. Stockpile gold and silver and learn how to make whiskey and beer. You'll be fine. Don't buy huge bars trying to trade a good delivery on the street at the end of days isn't going to go well.
It's never a bad idea to have a gun or two for hunting. Learn to reload - ammo will be the real problem you need to worry about. Stockpile that too - it might be worth more than your gold.
Sure, be a steward of the environment that's just good sense and being neighborly so I support that.
If you're really freaked about the end of the good ole US of A, move to Europe.
My motto is "I'm always prepared and if I'm not prepared I'm always adaptable." See if that works for you.

I just like to make people think. Of course, the US will fight back and try to hold on to its power. You are right the US has consumers. Thats an awesome resource to have. Power shifts are inevitable, just wonder what it will all translate to

I forgot to mention the mind-bogglingly huge oil reserves that the US hasn't tapped into yet. Use everyone else's first...

Yep, I definitely think this was a cyber attack. Everything just kinda makes more sense for it.

Very fishy indeed

The world situation is looking bad at the current time. Stocking up on food and basic necessities might be a good place to start. Even if there is a positive outcome in the future, you will have extra food in storage.

There is no harm in doing the right thing. Becoming more self-sustainable is good no ,matter what happens

Check out the homesteaders on steemit. They have lots of good advice on how to become more self-sufficient. They don't have all the answers, but it's a good place to start, if you haven't already. @ironshield

Thanks I'll check that out
