I know it is technically Spring. I also know I live in a city where it rains ☔️ more than it snows ❄️ (so I really shouldn’t complain). But…
I AM READY FOR SUMMER!!! 🌞
What’s a girl to do when gray days have got her down? Why head back to the beach of course! 🏖
To this end, the hubs and I are flying to Southern California in a month (which honestly is TOO FAR AWAY). Our destination – Huntington Beach!

Huntington Beach (aka Surf City USA) is a quintessential beach city just south of Los Angeles. “HB” is almost always sunny and the area’s geography and weather make for excellent year round surfing. The city’s western coastline consists of 9.5 miles of sandy beach punctuated by the Huntington Beach Pier.

However, this California sojourn won’t be all palm trees and Mickey Mouse. Instead we will be attending a TWO Day Ska Punk music show called Back to the Beach.
The festival, sponsored by the famous LA radio station KROQ (k-rock) is the brainchild of Travis Barker Blink 182 and John Feldman Goldfinger. 16 bands are slated to perform (RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!!) during the two day festival.

To top this all off, I hear there will be games (beach Jenga anyone), cabanas, a kid zone, multiple bars and all kinds of tasty food. There is also a pretty decent chance we will get backstage before the fesitval’s end. The hubs has “people”. 😄

I just listened to some of your music. I can see this is right up your alley. ☺️ Does your band play a lot of shows in the Netherlands?
The one band that seems missing from the California show is Reel Big Fish. I think they are playing Warped Tour somewhere the same day.
We've played quite a lot (and still do) in our 17 year existence. Reel Big Fish would certainly fit the line up.

So my husband came across your post, and told me that I should check it out. Now I see why, I absolutely love 311, and I'm going to have to take the time to listen to these other ones, I'm definitely a rocker chick and always on the lookout for new stuff. Cool! 311 are great. We went to 311 Day in New Orleans in 2016. Surely you must have gone at least once? We also got our picture on their new album, Mosaic. Well I did, my husband was wearing an alien mask so I tell his he has no proof he made the cut! 😄
Out of the other bands in this post Less Than Jake are my favorite. Then the Bosstones, Interrupters, Big D and the Kids Table and Fishbone.
That's flipping awesome!! How cool is it to bless the album cover, serious cool points!!! Lol and I agree, if I can't see your husband's face, it didn't happen!! Unfortunately, I've only been to a handful of concerts, I have issues with big crowds, it is bearable when my husband is with me, but our tastes in music differ and I wouldn't want to subject him to hours of my music lol thanks for filling me in on your faves, I'll go to those first!
