✨ Are You Ready For What's Coming? Celebrating My 36th Week on Steemit!
If you have been joining us for our Bitshares Hangout and EOSTalk Live events each week then you have been hearing many hints and behind-the-scenes secrets that will put you in a better position to prosper from all the new projects, platforms, and tools that are under development and coming your way over the next several months. Sometimes the juiciest tidbits are dropped in the after parties.
Here is my note from last week again to make sure it sinks in:
At first you may find this to be an overwhelming proposition, keeping track of so many different accounts to post on multiple platforms, but it's no different than what everyone already does with current 'non-paying' centralized social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. The upside will be well worth the effort. You will have genre-specific communities popping up that will allow you to share your content with people you know will accept what you create with open arms and reward you fairly for your efforts and contributions. This will help lower the level of hostility and content censorship you have with a single platform scenario like we have now. Imagine posting your content on 3 or 4 crypto-backed blockchain sites and getting rewarded for it on all of them. Even if your content is controversial on one or more, and you take heat for it, you will be well-received on others.
As I have been saying for a while now, 2018 will be a great year for all of us willing to keep our eyes and options open. Thank you to everyone who helped make it another great week, my 36th here on Steemit.

I am continuing to help coordinate and judge the weekly art and community building challenges for @OfficialFuzzy. These challenges are a great way to bring people together and spread the work about important topics in a fun way that people will remember. From time to time I will participate just for fun to add my point-of-view to the mix, even though I cannot officially enter the contests myself.
We wrapped up our multi-week EOS video challenge and introduced the community's new "Project Milkbox" initiative with a set of logo design challenges. This week we brought back a Fan Art challenge for Bitshares, if you join us for the Bitshares Hangout on Saturdays you will understand why we are bringing Bitshares into the spotlight. We are always so proud of everyone who takes the time to participate in the different challenges, these help build the community and open up opportunities for even more people to earn rewards here on Steemit and beyond.

📢 VICE Network
So the VICE Token crowdsale is underway, but not without a few hick-ups at the start. I wrote about the issues and my concerns in my weekly "Wednesday Hump Day" post. The recent double dip in crypto prices as we retested the lows making for a bit of bad timing. ETH slowly creeped its way back up to the mid $950s, however for some unexplained reason the VIT Team priced locked the token sale price with ETH at $909. This lower price drastically undercut the number of tokens we should have received. Karma's a bitch and ETH dropped below that locked price in the days since.

DPORN is coming along faster than expected and they recently announced the APLHA site will be launched this weekend. This may be the last few days to pick up PORND tokens from the DEX. The advent of SMTs will probably add up to this momentum and reenforce the movement toward this decentralization of popularity as well! Great update, again, thanks a lot. So much is happening at the same time, wow... Keep up the awesome work!!!

Wow! You certainly are involved in a lot of projects and initiatives — this is just part of what makes this community so interesting! And I think it's fascinating how the Steemit "organization" has promised to release a "Communties" feature as part of the Steemit interface... but since that has been slow in coming, community members have just self-organized into their own communities.

Yeah... Steemit has promised a lot of things and delivered very few or at too slow a pace to properly steer the ship as it were. It's been great as a proof of concept and now as the blueprints for what 'not to do' for all the other specialized community based platforms coming out this year. There are a lot coming, in our group we try to stay focused on DPoS/Graphene and EOSIO based chains, but many will be coming on others as well.
I imagine we will have a year of mass releases, followed by a year of shake-outs and consolidation as the leaders pull away and the rest die off - just like we saw in the .com space in the late 90s and early 2000s.
I can't believe you are able to keep track of all this projects and events @steempowerpics. Though personally I'm glad you're doing all this since most of us, including me is to lazy to look up for this ourselves. Also Beyondbits and Bitshares are doing great things for the community, so there success and growth is well deserved. On the sidenote, I noticed that there are two adult oriented platform that are about to go live. Is this honna be a trend now? Not that I'm complaining mind you :) Thanks for the interesting post.
We definitely have a lot going on across BeyondBitcoin communities. I think the two adult platforms were kind of inevitable given the censorship and lack of support users who create and post in this category receive. It's not just 'porn', but even photographers and artists who create anything with nudity are forced to tag with nsfw which pretty much kills the community support for the art. It's always good to have a bit of market competition to force innovation and pass the best possible benefits to the users. We will se how it shakes out this year.
