Engage and be a part of Community to be on Top of Steemit..
Most of the people alway prefer to reach on to the maximum height in their career. They want success at any cost and to achive it, they will do anything. The greed to get on to top make them to do things which are not accepted by many.
Even on Steemit, everyone wants to fair well. They whant to get attention and try to get to the top of Steemit ladder. The only easiest way is to bring in some huge amount in your wallet i.e invest in Steem crypto.
For those who are still not yet figure out how to get success and still fighting hard to make a mark in Steemit. I would say ENGAGEMENT is the only way.
In my one year stint on this platform, I have learned this secret mantra for success. If not success then at least you will get good recognition. Sharing my personal experience , till the time i activelly participate in community driven rules and policies i get good responce in my post. The moment i step out to participate or could not able to contribute much due to some personal issues or problem I hardly get any attention.
With all this ups and down I have understood that to make your presence count on Steemit there are few things that one should always follow:
Be active on Steemit, through upvoting and commenting.
Be alert all the time about your followers content and whom you following. This will make you to engage with their post.
Be part of Community. There are many community well functioning over Steemit or at Discord. Make sure to be part of it and abide by their rules.
These are few of the simple rules, to get much awaited success on Steemit. Simply following them regularly help to build a good repo on this amazing crypto platform and you will get into limelight. Also it will kill your boredom.
DO REMEMBER THERE IS NO SHORTCUTS TO SUCCESS

I completely agree that engagement is the key factor here on SteemIt. During my first couple of weeks, I just did my own thing, I was not very fond of the entire 'community'-idea. I'm not really a community-person in life either.
But then I met some people, and I got involved into @newbieresteemday, and one thing led to another and before I knew it I could hardly find time to write a post, because of all the comments and replies I wrote, lol.
As my (mental and physical) health is still causing problems, and with the entire Steemmonsters-thing, I find myself engaging less. How I wish there would be 72 hours in a day....

I think it is also important to set yourself personal goals that are unrelated to financial reward. As to be honest with ourselves the best posts for personal development are not always going to be the best rewarded, but they will be the ones that you look back on with pride.
