What is Hook 'Em Up?

Our @BuddyUP community is growing and so is the quality content inside the POST POOL channels. Quite often that content can be easily missed in the vast ocean of Steemit.

It’s our mission at BuddyUP to grow together, support each other and highlight the fantastic content that is created by our members. As part of that mission, we showcase talented content creators within the BuddyUP community, who also display a positive attitude and a community mindset, through our weekly curation post, Hook ‘Em Up!

Jumping in with both feet is how one of our newest members, @kennynneken, likes to take on his Steemit adventure. In the first of his new series Cryptocurrencies for Dummies, he educates us on the basics of cryptocurrency. Not only does he give us a history lesson, he also teaches us about the values, technology, and evolution of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

As an investor, you never want to invest in something you know nothing about.

Confusion can easily take hold when discussing cryptocurrency, but @kennynneken has made it easy to understand. Pretty soon you'll be able to impress your fellow Steemians with the knowledge you've gained about cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies are based upon decentralized distributed ledger technology. The most commonly used type of cryptos is called the blockchain. Every user on the blockchain is equal to the other.

Holy Darth Vader, Batman!! Calling all nerds!! @svemirac takes us with him to Utrecht, Netherlands for an interactive Exposition of Star Wars props that were used on set. There were quizzes, character building, and choices to make at every checkpoint. We get an up-close view of BB8, the Bounty Hunter, and a mini replica of the Millennium Falcon in his intergalactic post.

The day has come: entering the expo. Everything is set into dark atmosphere with cool lighting, and you have an audio guide with an infrared transmission step-on circle to play.

Being in such close proximity to movie used props, @svemirac has lived out every Star Wars fan's fantasy. Based on the answers to your questions during each checkpoint of the Expo, you build your own character who is revealed at the end.

Who would you be inside the Star Wars Universe?

Hop on your Tauntaun and head on over to @svemirac's (also known as Velibor) Star Wars Adventure, look at some cool pictures and show him some nerdy love. May the Force be with you!

We have noticed a lovely new Steemian in our Discord channel, and on Steemit, dropping awesome heartfelt comments on our posts. @kchitrah, a newer member of our BuddyUP family, calls attention the fact that not every situation needs spoken word.

She reminds us that sometimes Silence is Golden.

It is best that some things go unsaid until we have had a chance to process it, or to simply let the storm pass. It is hard to find much comfort in anyone's company at this time as people often want to talk, explain, find a solution or worse retribution.

For those of us who aren't blessed with high emotional awareness, @kchitrah gives pointers to help remind us that there's nothing wrong with walking away when help is not needed or warranted. She also mentions what it is to just listen, without waiting to speak next or trying to be the problem solver, she highlights how important it is to sometimes listen to another's silence.

In our eagerness to help, or wanting to find a quick fix, we forget to be human.
