This is a brilliant idea! It may take a little while to catch on but I bet it will. Here is a comment that @winstonwolfe left. It is like a mini-post.
"Firstly, I've never seen this movie, but it feels like I definitely should. This movie seems to Wolverine as "Hurt" was to Johnny Cash, and I love that it's available in B/W. The thing about it being both color and black & white, however, leaves me with one tiny shard of disappointment. It's not a big thing, and certainly not something that taints the movie for me by any means, and that is the fact that the decision to go B/W wasn't made prior to production. The reason I say this is because it caters to the "your way right away" generation. Petty, I know, but I have the same feeling about photography. In the film days, you had to make a conscious decision when buying the film whether or not to shoot in color or B/W. You don't have to do that with digital - I mean you can, the setting is right there on the camera, but most people (myself included) don't use it. They usually just shoot in full color, and then edit to B/W after the fact. It was also the same way for me when buying movies on VHS in the days before DVDs. If you wanted Widescreen, you had to make that choice in the store when you bought it. Now, you just pop in the disc and make that choice in the menu.
That said, I won't be missing this one if I can help it. I'm a sucker for good B/W (or at least partially B/W) movies, i.e. "Pi", "Young Frankenstein", "Eraserhead", "American History X", "Memento", "The Elephant Man", "Rumble Fish", "Schindler's List", "Natural Born Killers", etc."

Have you seen 'Tetsuo: Iron man'? Also try 'Down by law', 'Stranger than paradise', and 'Dead man'. Jim Jarmusch is the bomb. 'Night of the hunter', 'Touch of evil'. I think all of these are B/W.
Oh man I used to watch that Iron man all the time. I forgot about that one too. Because it had subtitles and was visually interesting, they used to play it on the tvs at a club I used to go to all the time. It was pretty perfect watching it while techno and industrial blared in the club.
The Japanese know how to do it. I always put this in the same class with 'Eraserhead' and 'PI'. It has intensity. A color movie, with a similar taste of madness, is called 'Bad boy Bubby'. It's not for children.
I've seen eraserhead and Pi. Will have to cancel out bad boy bubby. Thanks!
