Hey everyone!
As you know I was one of many who was for the comment reward pool - since it didn't happen (yet - maybe) I have been actively voting up comments as well in the posts I curate. I want to increase the distribution that goes to comments and the effort that is put into them on the platform. My voting power is of course as limited as everyone else's but I wanted to start something that would give a few comments per day some extra attention and rewards.
To keep the idea of this post simple and short:
Guidelines
-Quote the comment you feel is worthy of a bigger reward (can not be your own)
-Add a link to the original in the same comment (you get a permalink of the comment by clicking on the time next to the username of the comment)

-Vote for your winners and feel free to change the weight of the vote when checking other's suggestions as well
-I will vote up the suggestions with the same % as to not interfere with the decision of who wins but reward the effort
Reward Split
Top 3 daily comments will be rewarded by the posting rewards of this post and by a vote from me and my curation trail.
-50% of the SteemDollars will go top comment #1, 30% to top comment #2 and 20% to top comment #3
-100% vote will go to top comment #1, 60% to top comment #2 and 30% to top comment #3
Feel free to let me know what you think of this contest. Would be great way to increase interactivity and reward the time and effort users put into commenting.
I've never really asked others to re-steem my post, but if you could this one time itwould help making more users aware of it and they might remember good comments they've read and want to nominate them. Thanks! :)
Hi acidyo, I think this is a really good idea. I've only been on steemit for a few days and whilst I'm not technically minded and have no idea how the whole thing works, I am enjoying commenting on posts and feel that it's a big part of what makes things work. If it was a site dedicated simply to posts without the ability to comment, it would not be as successful which means that comments have some part in the sites overall success and should be rewarded.Whilst a post can certainly get a conversation started, it's the comments section which can often drive that conversation in the direction it needs to go.

:-) thanks a lot. :-) i really don't know what to say as I honestly don't know how things work around here but it's definitely nice to be appreciated and to win something so I am very grateful. I joined steemit by recommendation and have enjoyed posting my drawings and having people comment on them....it's always nice to hear positive things. I am looking forward to having my own say on subjects that I feel passionate about very soon but I have enjoyed having a look around and seeing who else is out there and what they have to say. I have been pleasantly surprised by the content I have found and have been able to relate to a lot of members already, including yourself.
I'd just like to say thanks again and remind everyone of what I assume atleast most of us were taught in our more innocent days.....if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Even a criticism can be made in a positive way.

We have to remember though that this is the internet and a platform where users can be whoever they want or remain anonymous. Of course there are going to be some bad apples just like everywhere else on the internet, but I have to admit that most people here are much nicer in general!

Gotta give love to comments. Comments are the meat of the sandwich. Without commentors, there's no interaction, no community, etc. Incentives for interaction is where it's at.

Hey, btw! I noticed you vote on my posts right after they are posted - just wondering if you are aware that you lose most of your curation rewards because of that. There is a penalty set against bots initially (but something that might change later) where if you vote after 15 minutes you only make 50% of the possible curation rewards and 100% after 30 minutes, so voting at minute 1 removes over 97% of your curation rewards and they go instead to the authors.
Huh I did not know that. I thought faster the better.
That was probably from me doing it manually haha.
I have the bot configured to vote at random intervals in a range of around 5 to 20 minutes.

I don't think that I've gotten off of a computer since I got on one around 26-27 years ago. NO REGRETS. Communication, knowledge, sharing, building, collaborating, hacking, etc. is fucking cool. I love life.
