ColorChallenge Friday Blue | Where Land And Sky Meet | My Trip To Vegas And Then To Cali PT.2
On May 22, 2017 I flew out of St. Louis to Las Vegas. This was the third time I have been there. The wife and I go on a trip every year for our anniversary which is May 18. We have been married for 12 years now.
So at the start of day two we left Circus Circus to go walk the strip a little bit and buy a few souvenirs for the kids and parents. On this trip we was lucky enough to have a baby sitter set up for the entire trip. Boy was that nice for a change. After returning to our rental car and fueling up we headed off into the desert on our way to California.
When we arrived in Death Valley we made a quick pit stop and found some interesting places. First up was this place called "Alien Jerky". Everything inside was alien themed. They had every type of jerky you could imagine and a variety of hot sauces and trinkets. Before we left the area we went and seen the "Worlds tallest Thermometer". The car was saying 108F and the giant thermometer was saying 104F.
So on the road again. The interesting part of this trip is that we didn't even book the hotel we was staying in until that night. When we arrived in Laguna Beach CA we was still without a room for the night. Driving up and down the street a couple of times until we found the one that we wanted and that was not outrageous we finally decided on beach front hotel. It was called Pacific Edge. We paid around 100 dollars after tax and it was a total steal.
The sun was starting to fade and we needed a bite to eat. So we walked down to a restaurant that was beach front. It was so calming to hear the waves crashing on the beach below as we talked and ate.
