Getting verified quicker in Coinspot

Getting verified in Coinspot can take hours or even days. The sole reason for this delay is that the company or rather, the verification team has to check each and everyone's application manually.

It took just an hour for my account to get verified. Below is what I had done to achieve a fast verification.

Before you can try to get verified, you need to create an account with Coinspot. To do that, go to the top right hand corner of their website and you should see the tab called "Register". Click on that and you will be taken to the Create account page.

Create your account and verify your Email address in your chosen email provider's website. Once you verified your email address, login to Coinspot.

Again, at the top right hand corner of the home page is the tab "Account". Click on it and go to "Settings". To your left is the "Verification" tab, click on that to start.

What you will need for verification

I suggest to do all the "required" verification including facebook and mobile. I didn't do the "Utility Bill" as I didn't really have one. You can choose to do so if you have one in your possession.

  1. Email
This one is simple enough and it should've been verified prior to doing this verification process.

  2. Mobile
Simple enough. They will need this to call you after submitting.

  3. Facebook
Just a link to your Facebook account. Go to your Facebook account. Click on your profile then copy and paste the address here.

  4. Australia Drivers Licence
You need to take a high resolution photo of your licence. Use your mobile and take a sharp image photo. Please don't shake the camera while taking it. Don't compress it and just upload the exact file as is. This will ensure the verification team will get a high quality image. To which they can expand and zoom in to see clearly.

  5. Your Photo
Take a selfie holding a card or paper to which you wrote:

"I, [Your Full Name], submit this photo to apply for a CoinSpot account to trade digital currency and my code is [Your Code number]. [Your Signature]"

Again this will have to be as clear as your Drivers licence photo, blurry photos are seldom accepted. Make sure that nothing is obstructing your face when taking the photo. Yes, not even the paper you are holding up.

The secret code is also located in this section. You will find it on top of the sample verification photo.

6.Utility Bill
Any bill that shows your address. For example, mobile phone, electriciy, council. Take a photo showing your name and address.

I opted not to do this one and I got an approval within a few hours. Keep in mind though that it was business hours.

Be prepared to answer questions from the verification team within 24 to 48 hours from the time of submission.

Questions they will ask is about you and your application. Just say who you are and you are all set.

Thanks for the post. I had heard this site was only for Australians. Do you know if this is really true? Thanks

It is Australian base. Maybe anyone can join just like me joining Coinbase in the US?

Thank you for posting this. I have tried for the last two days to try and meeting their insane verification standards. They won't accept a scan of the driver's licence so it has to be a photo. The photo can't have shadows or obscure any holograms. I suspect that the verification team aren't even Australian, as no Australian would be this anal.

Now I just need to know which banks I can use with it to buy Steem as some of them don't seem to be attached. But I think that just a regular internet banking transfer should be enough.

They have POLI payment system. So u can use the big 4 as far as I know.

The manual approval can have its downside. Took a week for my friend to get verified. That was last December, the height of the crypto craze. So lots of new customers.

Their validation rejections have been every 20 minutes at this stage. The next rejection will be my 10th and final one. I want to avoid the POLI system where possible and I also want to avoid the big 4 where possible.
I think that I should just be able to do it via internet banking with my app with my credit union, but we'll see.
