People could only get married, move about and spend money when he had approved of it. Those who rebelled against him were severely punished. Yet, people seemed to adore him. He demanded absolute obedience which led to the point that he collected all passports and cheque books. He further declared all marriages as cancelled. The final tragedy took place when this minister named Jim Jones served his followers, during a holy communion service, a certain poison which led to the death of hundreds of people in one day in Guyana-South America.
As we serve in the spirit of Christ, authority will be imparted to us by the one who said: "All power, or authority, is given unto me in heaven and in earth." A godly leader is one who seeks responsibility. An ungodly leader is one who seeks authority. Ezekiel 34:1-10
