Chess problem 26 / Schachaufgabe 26steemCreated with Sketch.

Today you have to find the best moves in an artificial composed chess position again, but after the last one has been somewhat tricky, I think this time it should be a little bit more easy again.

The question is simple: find a way for black to checkmate the opponent! (The whole move order is required, not only the first move; chess software shouldn't be used.)

What to say? I think we had many good tries today, so I don't want to announce a single winner, but three: @pompe72 was the first one who nearly solved the problem, just was missing the fastest finish. @gaby-de-wilde finally found the complete solution and @afrog helped @pompe72 to finish his attack. Good teamwork. Congrats, the problem is solved now! :) Complete solution:

  1. ... Rxa2+
  2. Kxa2 c1N+
  3. Ka1 Nxb3+
  4. Ka2 Nc1+
  5. Ka3 Ra8+
  6. Bxa8 Qxa8#

Ra4 x a2+, Ka1 x Ra2, c2 -c1 Kn+
If Ka2 - a1, Knc1 x b3+
If Ka2 - a3, Qd8 -f8+

  1. ... Rxa2+
  2. Kxa2 c1N+
  3. Ka1 Nxb3+
  4. Ka2 ???
    Please continue!

Ra4xa2+, Ka1xRa2, c2-c1N+

The white king is in a2 now so,

Ka2-a1, Nc3xb3+, Ka1-a2, Nb3-c1+
Ka2-a1, Bc3x b2 mate

Correct, but what after:

  1. ... Rxa2+
  2. Kxa2 c1N+
  3. Ka1 Nxb3+
  4. Ka2 Nc1+
  5. Ka3 ???

I announced you as winner together with @gaby-de-wilde and @afrog .

Qd8-f8+

Hint: look at your rook ...

Hey @pompe72, you've got it already! Why you doesn't finish your good game?

  1. ... Rxa2+
  2. Kxa2 c1N+
  3. Ka1 Nxb3+
  4. Ka2 Nc1+
  5. Ka3 why you stopped here @pompe72? Just two steps to the end Ra8+
  6. Bxa1 Qxa8+ finish!

@pompe72 made the game @jaki01. Not me!

I announced you as winner together with @pompe72 and @gaby-de-wilde.

Yes, this time @pompe72 made most of the job. :)

Cause I'm tired.

5 . ... Qf8+ wins, too, but it is not the fastest way (white can delay the checkmate with 6. Qd6).
What is the fastest way to win for black after 5. Ka3?

Must be then
Rb8-b3+ , Ka4
Qd7+ mate

No, Qd7+ is not checkmate (white bishop). :-)

I didn't and those I've asked didn't answer the hard one not to spoil the fun. Don't think we didn't see though your vast deception :P

Rook x a2+,
King takes a2, c1 promote to Knight+,
King a1, Rook a8,
Bishop takes a8, Queen a8+,
knight a3, Queen takes a3+,
King b1, Queen takes b2

Good start, but after

  1. ... Rxa2+
  2. Kxa2 c1N+
  3. Ka1

3 . ... Ra8+ is bad because of 4. Na3!

thats easy, then you just casually move the rook, look at the bishop and act surprised. "ohh"

Works every time

Rook x a2+,
King takes a2, c1 promote to Knight+,
King a1, Knight takes b3+,
King a2, Knight back to c1+,

Then either
King a3, Rook a8,
Bishop takes a8, Queen a8

Or
King a1, Bishop b2

That's correct, congrats!
I announced you as winner together with @pompe72 and @afrog .

Bb2... Kb2
After that I spent like 30 minutes thinking all the possible ways and still failed to find a correct solution. There are way too many scenarios for the white King to run away. Please comment the answer when the time is up. I am pretty sure that Pb1 is one of the moves at some point. I just cannot figure out the order.

You are right: after 1. ... Bxb2+ 2. Kxb2 white would actually win.
In case nobody solves the problem, of course I will give you the solution, but let's still wait ... there is still plenty of time for you all to solve it! :)

The black bull advanced to box 3a, after which raises the minister to box 2b. thank you
@jaki01

Nice that you take part and try to find a solution. :)
You are using quite interesting names for the chess pieces ... maybe that is common in your country?
Lets use the international valid names (K = king, Q = queen, R = rook, B = bishop, N = knight, P = pawn).

"Bull" means rook, right? Rook to a3 gives white the possibility to attack himself, so you need to be faster as black ... :)

Thank you for notifying me, and I will try again on the next chess challenge challenge from you

If you like you can also try this one again (even if I know it is not so easy ...). :)

K (king) move to 7D, further Q (Queen) takes P to 3B, and after that R (Rock) to 2A.

;)
You forget that also white can move, too ... white will attack the black king if black don't give checks ...

Right, and I admit defeat. Happy to be able to learn chess although I'm not smart. Thanks for your friend's advice @jaki01

Nobody gets defeated here. :) It's about having fun only ...
