White to move: / Weiß am Zug:

Unfortunately the diagram is not shown anymore and I have no idea, why. This is an example why I would prefer to be able to edit also old articles!
I will add the diagram in this comment now:

Edit: now the board in the article is shown again - and again I have no idea, why ..........

Finally, nowadays it's possible to edit old posts. :)
Anyway, really tricky chess problem this time - I can imagine that it wasn't easy to create it!

Hint: retro analysis required!
That means it will help you a lot if you can find out, what the last black move must have been!
Sometimes past can tell us what to do in future. :)

Last trial before you unfold the secret, @jaki01.
Ne6 h1Q!…Kc5 Qc6!…Kb4

To make it short: that is not enough for white.

I will start to post the solution now. Stay tuned. :-)

I am totally agog afrog.

Solution is out. :-)

White King kills e5, black king eats rook, f6-f7 Check!, black King eats knight, f7-Qf8+ , King to d7, white Queen to f7+, knight e7, bishop g5, rook e8, Qeen e6+, black King d8, Qd5+, bishop d7, Queen eats a8+,bishop c8, white queen d5+, bishop d7, a6-a7

Black gives up as there are no more moves. a7-a8 is gonna happen.

High praise for the unrealistically adventurous puzzle. ha-ha

Black doesn't eat the rook. His move is h1Q, @gaby-de-wilde. It is proofed. Look at my conversation with @jaki01. This Chess Problem #25 is a real pain.

I of course didn't look at the comments :P

The board at my table doesn't disappear. Always the same game and no progress. I'm not glad about this Number 25. The 25th jubilee of „Chess Problem“ is a feast for @jaki01!

I admit it is hard ... but you all are to blame: you were just too good, so I wanted to test what happens, if I increase the level. :)
Did you read my hint on top of the comments? Want more help finally? :-) Curiosity should be stronger than pride, haha !

Yes, I see it now. It's hilarious.

There is no forced checkmate.

There IS!
Lets wait for the suggestions of @afrog or @heimindanger. :)

The computer didn't find it either, I was so frustrated with the h1=Q+ that I had to check.

I made this quiz exactly for persons like YOU who try to solve it with their chess software ... :-)
If you check my other chess quizzes you will find even more problems which can't be solved by most chess programs. :-)
But by the way, apart from cases where I explicitly invite participants to utilize chess software, I really prefer them to use only their own brain!

I prefer to work it out logically without silicon assistance.

Nice to hear that!
In case nobody solves this quiz I will give you a hint ... but it is still too early for any advices ... :)

White pawn F6 to F7.
Force the Black knight @ G8 to either F6 or E7 or more likely take out White bishop H6.
White castle @ E8 takes Black castle H8.
Black knight from H6 to take out White pawn F5.
White pawn from F7 to F8... Queen me bitch! Now run for you life black plastic scum!! LOL

I counter with black's Pawn @ h2 goes to h1 and becomes a queen Check!

  1. f6-f7 h2-h1Q+

Haaa! I didn't even see that bugger down there @h2. Yea, that makes a bit of difference doesn't it! :)

It does! :)

ok, so then... I'd probably go White castle E8 to E5 to take pawn.
Black pawn h2 to H1 to make queen and check.
White King moves from D5 to C5 and hope that Black Queen moves from H1 to C1 for another check.
White Bishop from H6 to C1 to take out Black Queen.

OK, you say:

  1. Rxe5 h1Q+ 2. Kc5, but now black can play 2. ... Nxh6, and black wins!

Sorry, I don't see it.
Once White King moves to C5, then black has to either move their Queen to C1, or move Knight to take White Bishop @ H6 like you said. But, if that Black knight makes move before it's queen slides to C1, there's still dancing room for White King w/o check.

Even if 2. ... Nxh6 is no check, black simply has more pieces left than white, and therefore will win. :)

ich kann kein Schach......😇

Noch nicht?

wäre dann das zweite was du mir beibringen musst!! lol***

Als allerersten Schritt würde ich die Regeln bei Wiki nachlesen.
Dann sehen wir weiter. ;-)

so ist der Plan.....:-)

Excellent post! I like your work My friend

You win as white if you have a dumb opponent. Or if you control the black pieces too.

... or if you make the best move! :)

My second idea was to move a piece on the right of the board so that one can grab the pawn with the left hand without the opponent seeing it.
