Game 3

After 78 moves of a Spanish Apertura and after six hours and forty minutes of game the draw was agreed.

Undoubtedly it was the best game that so far both chess players played in this final. It is that during the game session the computer programs and analysis of the experts varied second by second, play after play. After passing the half game, and in front of a position of equality, the champion managed to turn the prognosis, to take a pawn of advantage, to take possession of the initiative and to move towards its first victory.

It was at that moment that the best of the challenger emerged - a defense specialist - and found the best answers one by one. When everything indicated that the tie was once again within his grasp, Karjakin committed an inaccuracy that again left Carlsen with clear advantage. Again the champion was one step away from adding his first point and taking over the marker, however, and in something that is not usual in his game, the young champion exhibited weaknesses in the definition just in the final part of the game. And that way he let out a golden chance. His rival discovered a variant that led to tables and this time did not fail and clung to the draw.

Undoubtedly with this equality, and with the score of the match at 1.5 points per side, it has been the Russian challenger who stands best after the marathon game. Tomorrow in the 4th, will take the advantage of driving the white pieces.
