Support animal rescue - Charity Weekly Support Post

Hi guys, thanks for all that helped supporting charity cases and people in need during the last two weeks. In Week 3 of Charity Weekly I would like to help @rhondak - Rhonda is a beautiful soul from the US - from Central Appalachia. Apart from being a great writer she is driving initiatives for animal rescue and animal rights! All liquid SBDs this posts generates will be transferred to Rhonda.

Check out her profile and donate to her or consider at least some Upvotes or Resteems. Here is a bit info from one of her posts - hope I get not killed by cheetah on that one (The following is a quote summary):

"I live in Central Appalachia, one of the most downtrodden regions of the U.S. In many ways, it’s like a third-world country. In fact, missionaries from less privileged nations have actually come to this region trying to offer help. In addition to the abject poverty, drug abuse, and other social issues we face in Central Appalachia, there’s an overwhelming tendency toward animal neglect and abuse. This problem is so rampant that even county officials take part in it with complete immunity. Needless to say, approaching officials for help in Southwest Virginia is not an option. It is far more likely to land any whistleblower on the wrong side of the law themselves. People who might otherwise be persuaded to get involved with animal causes are typically too frightened to become associated with any organization that presents a conflict with the Mountain Mafia, like my rescue Tazewell ARC."

"So how does this involve Steemit? Well—what if Steemit manages to accomplish what all the major animal welfare groups in the U.S have failed to accomplish in Central Appalachia, and that is to empower a grass roots movement that changes the animal welfare landscape here forever? We’ll never defeat the current system if we take it on head-to-head. The political corruption is too deep, the stakes too high for local officials who’ve used county jobs and taxpayer monies for their own gain for far too many generations. I have operated and can continue to operate as a non-profit animal rescue as long as I am adequately funded. Steemit seems to provide the perfect platform to raise this kind of money. Not even from handouts and donations, but from the existing system of upvotes and earning potential. I think we just need to rally some animal lovers to brainstorm initiatives to help the cause. I can offer land and housing for up to thirty dogs. I have rescue partners in New England states willing to take our dogs and place them for adoption in no-kill zip codes, but this costs money. I have the ability to offer sanctuary and rehabilitation to dogs who need a little extra work before going into homes. And I can offer sanctuary to those with medical conditions or certain behavior issues that make adoption very unlikely. I just need regular funding."

What is CharityWeekly again?

It is just a little new tag and initiative I try to handle every week - we are just beginning. Hope to get the big guns behind this tag like @pharesim or @nextgencrypto who both showed their support recently already - THANKS! I only donated a bit but some some great votes and reactions especially from minnows!

Suggest others I can support for Week 3 and later of #charityweekly

For now we could donate and support @papilloncharity @sergiomendes @travelwithus - check their profiles for more and help directly. Still for payout is the current support post for @charityproject - of you do not mind check it out here:

Voted, resteemed, donated - thanks @uwelang for supporting and promoting Rhonda's hard work!

Wow - this is fantastic!!!!!

Oh my gosh, thank you so much. This could not have come at a better time. Just this week we've been embroiled in a heated social media argument with community members about tiny baby chicks being given to unsupervised children at a town festival as contest prizes. This is against Virginia law. Law enforcement has taken the position that they felt attacked by our public questioning of why no one intervened at the event. Our position is that we deeply regret that law enforcement felt attacked, but that we maintain the right and civic obligation to speak up if we feel anyone in public office has not quite met the mark. My post about this incident is here: https://steemit.com/animals/@rhondak/tiny-chicks-as-festival-prizes

Rhonda might not think to come in and note this--she's quite busy--but the chick fiasco does seem to have actually resulted in legal action, as well as improved education of the community. A tragic event, but some good has come of it. And she's offered the community to take in any chicks and rabbits kids won that families can't care for. So any funds raised here will be needed.

voted and resteemed ,hope we can find some willing whales

Thank you so so so much! Of course I upvoted and resteemed. hug

It is really greate idea. I hope it'll work. Animals need our support.

You know already that I support very much this hashtag and not only because You were a sweetheart and helped me out. but because for me it is important as well to try and make a difference in the World we live in. This week cause it is very noble and humanity really need to step up their game when it comes to the way they treat all the animals out there. :D Love this

Thank you for doing this to help support Rhonda and her rescue! I've been following her work for several years and the situation is truly desperate. Like many others, my limited budget in real life makes it hard for me to send much cash. But I've also been making small posts and pledging the SBD to Rhonda's rescue. She's in a situation where every penny counts, so if anyone else wants to help but has low vote weight and tight personal budget, perhaps this is an option?

Upvoted and shared with my followers :-)

Klasse, danke Dir!

Upvoted and resteemed. I love animal rescue efforts, and was so happy to see your post @uwelang. Great job!!

Another great post Sir Uwe! Maybe you must also post your work in the #social investment channel? Blessings!

Thanks Stephen- happy to put it there, was not sure this is allowed - do not wanna handle link spam 😎

Please remember, it is not my channel as it belongs to everyone on the committee! So it is also yours!

Your efforts are most welcome there Sir Uwe! It will inspire others to also do something! Did you like my proposal of the 2 funds on the channel? We have to inspire confidence and trust in the Whales before they will come on board!

Thanks - will jump on the channel now to check
