Saturday 3rd of March 2018 will go down in history and people of Akanran (a suburb in ibadan), most especially children will never forget this day. This was a day the fatherfaith foundation took it's one meal a day campaign to the people of Akanran.

This was the second edition of the one meal a day campaign organized by fatherfaith foundation. The 1st edition was done at the FCT School for the blind, Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria on Monday 5th of February 2018 where we celebrated a friend's birthday with the students. Before I continue, let me first of all specially thank @damarth for this one meal a day initiative. One Meal a Day is a steemit charity action to struggle against famine. @damarth has been helping people out with one meal a day. He has also been sponsoring people that are ready to help others with one meal a day.
I also want to appreciate the initiator of #teardrops, @surpassinggoogle. He has been helping people to wipe away their tears. And his life has taught how to show love by impacting other people's life.

A day before the one meal a day campaign, @mickey1036 and myself went to Akanran village in Ona-Ara local government in Oyo State for Steem evangelism. I wrote about the steemit promotion yesterday. While we were there, we were told about the challenges they are facing in the community most especially the children. We were told about how children find it difficult to cope in school. We were told that since the government has failed to fulfil their promise by feeding the students with one meal a day, the children were discouraged to go to school. Also, most parent find it difficult to buy school materials for their children.
On hearing all of this, after the steemit promotion, I decided to take the one meal a day campaign of the fatherfaith foundation to the community to wipe away their teardrops. With support from @mickey1036, we were able to bless the children with the little we were able to gather.

It was a day of joy and the children were happy when we got there with some school materials and food stuffs. We also fed them that afternoon with snacks and soft drinks. The food stuffs that cannot be shared immediately on that day were handed over to an elderly woman to cook and distribute to the children in school during break time the following week on a school day. I was to travel back to Abuja the following day (Sunday 4th of March 2018) so I couldn't wait till the day the food will be served to them in school.

The children and the whole community were happy and they appreciated the benevolence. We took time to snap pictures with the children.
