Promoting steemit is always a thing of joy especially when empowering the youth with it.
2nd of March 2018 was a day of history and a day that the youth in Akanran will never forget.
Akanran is located in Ona-Ara local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria. Akanran is a suburb of Ibadan.

My 3weeks visit to Ibadan was a fruitful one as I involved myself in different steemit activities.
On Friday, 2nd of March 2018, my humble self and @mickey1036 took the gospel of steemit to the youth in Akanran. The first thing we discovered when we got there was that non of them has heard about steemit before that day. This made us to wonder and we asked what they have been doing all this while with their data.

We looked for a conducive place were we gathered them and explained to them what STEEM, steemit and cryptocurrency are all about. Myself and @mickey1036 did a perfect job taking them through all this which lasted for like 2hrs.

The youths were taken through different topics which include

• Cryptocurrency
• Blockchain technology
• Steem Blockchain
• Steemit
• How to open an account on steemit
• Other apps and sites built on Steem blockchain
• SBD and STEEM
• How to earn reward on steemit (author and citation reward)
• How to change Steem and sbd to other cryptocurrency and fiat money
• How to write a post
• How to relate with other steemians
  
  

After the lectures, we called for questions which were duly answered by us (@mickey1036 and I)
There was item 7 (refreshment) which we provided and we also took time to take pictures

Many of the youth started the signing up process that same day but it just unfortunate that only one person account has been activated so far (@abidemiademok21). I think it will be best for the platform if the activation process can be faster in other not to discourage people that want to join. Thanks
