Given That Steemit Is Open Source, Would You Start A Steemit Clone? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why? May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Twenty Eight
Gradually, we are coming to the close of this challenge by @dragosroua in a #challenge30days, you can learn more here. This is one interesting challenge that involves you and I on the steem blockchain, the question today is simple :
Given That Steemit Is Open Source, Would You Start A Steemit Clone? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why?
All my friends knows am not a tech guy, my journey into the crypto world started the day I sign-up on Steemit, down the line I've enjoyed every of this experience.
In my little understanding of this is to start/design/program a site like Steemit, because it's an open source right? Google and Androids are open source platform as against Apple, though I know that open source platform has more wider coverage of reaching more users than closed source, but do I want that with Steemit? Different platform /subsidiaries are all coming out of Steemit : utopia-io, busy.org, esteem etc, they also come with there challenges.
The news of Utopia-io been hit last month is still fresh in Steemians memory, and with all this happening ,I rather say No to a clone.
Why
Having a clone like Steemit if not we'll guided and provided for can cause a lot of loopholes for hackers to come in.
I owe it to the team @ned and @dan who created this platform to keep there platform as it, instead of pirating there intellectual property, why can't I, if I could, design my own platform totally different from Steemit.
The sky is too big for all birds to fly, so I believe I too can think of a different mind blowing idea of my own.Presently, I don't have the financial capacity to run such a big project.
