Fallen :: 50 Word Short Story
On the eve of my minor landwhale adventure to the great wasteland of North Dakota this weekend, I still found time to assemble a submission to @jayna's ever popular 50 Word Story Challenge.
This time around, she challenges us with a simple little noun: lemon
“Repent for your crime!”
The boy stared, not understanding their language. He wasn’t from here.
Was this because of the lemon he had taken? It had fallen in the street, and he was so hungry.
The trap door opened under him. He fell through, dangling.
He didn’t even like lemons.
I definitely don't have any grand backstory on this one, other than the mild commentary that perhaps everything in this world is just a giant misunderstanding, and if things hadn't gone so far, maybe God would ask for a mulligan.
A great community of writers there, helping each other get better at what they enjoy doing.
